Become the 'bystander with the beat' in MedStar's 25 in 5! CPR campaign
MedStar Emergency Medical Services put the seven city Photo of MedStar 25 in 5 campaigncouncil members through a quick "hands only" CPR training at the June 20 council meeting. This year, 2011, marks MedStar's 25th anniversary, which prompted the 25 in 5 Campaign. MedStar's goal is to teach chest compressions to 25,000 people over the next five years. The new CPR is hands-only chest compressions, no mouth-to-mouth. The campaign slogan is "become the Bystander with The Beat!" to encourage bystanders to learn CPR and take action in an emergency. In March, 48 city hall employees went through the training. For more, go to MedStar's website and click on 25 in 5! Chest Compression training.
