Help eliminate mosquitoes before the larvae develop into biting adults

Temperatures have climbed to the 90s, humidity is high, and recent rains have left puddles of water in the yards. That's all a mosquito needs to set up a home base. The City coordinates mosquito control activities through public education, surveillance, and environmentally responsible mosquito abatement. The City does not spray for mosquitoes. Instead, the City is proactive by controlling mosquito larvae before they develop into biting adult mosquitoes. Read More

Council OKs water improvements bid

Burleson City Council members awarded the bid for the construction of the Upper Pressure Plane to Lower Pressure Plane transfer valve project to Circle H Contractors, L.P. The project will be constructed at two locations, Hwy. 174 at Hulen Street and on City-owned property where the Turkey Peak elevated storage tank is located. The City of Burleson gets water from the City of Fort Worth. Burleson uses all available water from the City of Fort Worth at the Alsbury site, limiting the increase of flow from this site even with a pump station expansion. Staff elected to construct additional pumping capacity at the existing Hulen Street site, which has available capacity from Fort Worth. This option costs less and adds flexibility to Burleson's water system operations, improving service to Burleson residents. Read More
