Animal shelter offers microchipping services to pets of City residents
The Burleson Animal Shelter is now offering microchipping services to pets of City residents. Pets adopted from the shelter are microchipped. Some new pet owners have asked the City if they can get their other four-legged friends implanted with microchips at the shelter. The cost is $15 per animal and the owner must be a resident of the City to use the service. The pet's owner must provide proof of rabies vaccination to get the microchip. Each chip has a unique identification number that links a pet to the owner's personal information so if a dog or cat is lost, chances of being reunited with the owner are good. Read More

Door-to-door solicitors must register with City police or state commission

Recent hail damage as well as the start of the primetime selling season for companies that want your residential alarm business has brought up questions about regulations for door-to-door solicitors. Solicitors must register with the Burleson Police Department and wear City of Burleson-issued solicitor ID badges. Alarm security companies and locksmiths are exempt from registering with the City because they fall under Section 1702.134 of the Occupations Code and hold state licenses from the Texas Commission. Always call the Burleson Police Department, 817-426-9903, to report any suspicious solicitor activity. Read More
