City hosts Father/Daughter Mother/Son Valentines dance Feb. 12
Fathers and daughters, mothers and sons, make a date for  Saturday, Feb. 12, for the City's annual Father/Daughter and Mother/Son Valentine Dance. Dinner, dancing, pictures and corsages are included in the advance ticket price of $15 per couple or $25 per couple at the door. Tickets are available at the BRiCk, 550 N.W. Summercrest Blvd. The fun is slated for 6 p.m.-9 p.m., at the Senior Activity Center, 216 S.W. Johnson Ave. For more information, call the BRiCk at 817-426-9104. |
Packets for city council candiates are available at city hall starting Monday
Applications for a seat on the Burleson City Council will be available at Burleson City Hall starting Monday, Feb. 7, as well as at regular council meetings on Feb. 7, Feb. 21 and March 7. The last day to throw your hat in the ring is March 14. Places 1, 3, and 5 are on the May 14 ballot.
If you want to be the first to file for a seat, the city secretary's office at city hall will be open 10 a.m.-11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12. For more, go to the Elections page on the City website or call the city secretary's office at 817-426-9660. |
Make a date with your Valentine!
Seniors, make a date with your Valentine for the Senior Activity Center Valentine Dance Friday, Feb. 11. The fun takes place 7 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at 216 S.W. Johnson Ave. The cost is $5 per person. The dance ticket includes a free Valentine picture. Call Pat Williams at 817-295-6611 for more. |
Download books with a library card!
Did you know that you could download books with your Burleson Public Library card? Go to the Digital Downloads page on the City website. North Texas Libraries On-the-Go allows you to check out and download materials to be enjoyed at home, at work, or when you travel. All you need is a valid library card, access to the internet, and free software for the computer and/or device on which you wish to use the material you download. The offerings include historical, humor, juvenile fiction, literature, mysteries, romance, science fiction and fantasy, short stories and westerns. |
The BRiCk has gift cards for you!
Are you looking for the gift of health? Gift cards from the Burleson Recreation Center (the BRiCk) are available in $25, $50, $75 and $100 increments. The cards can be used for personal training, massages, activities, rentals and memberships. Call the BRiCk at 817-426-9104. |

What are your property tax rates? Go to the Taxes page, on the City website, www.burlesontx.com. You'll find property tax rates and local and state sales tax rates as well as links to the Johnson County tax assessor/collector and Tarrant County tax assessor/collector.

 Do you want to know how a vote went at a Burleson City Council meeting? View the video, live or at your leisure, on the City website. Click on the meeting date, then click on the item you are interested in. There is also a tab for streaming video of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Official minutes of council and commission meetings are not posted on the City website until the council/commission members have approved those minutes at their next scheduled meeting. |
