Library unveils self checkout kioskLibrary self checkout

You've heard of self checkout at the grocery store. How about self checkout at the Burleson Public Library? Thanks to a change in the operating system in the Plano Public Library system, the Burleson library got an $11,000 self checkout kiosk free of charge. Patrons scan their library card, scan the barcode located inside the book's cover, then receive a receipt that includes the date those books are due back to the library. The self checkout isn't the only new item to increase efficiency at the library. Thanks to state grant money, the library has a Disc -Go-Roboto, an automated disc repair system. Read more
