The Burleson Police Department has joined with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in a statewide impaired driving crackdown - "Don't Drive if You're Tipsy, Buzzed or Blitzen."

The TxDOT campaign is on Santa In Texas on Facebook . Through October 2009, the Burleson Police recorded 55 DWI cases. As of November 2010, the department has handled 67 DWI cases. Read more

Burleson's senior citizens will be kicking up their heels Thursday, Dec. 30, with a New Year's Eve party at the Senior Activity Center. The noon luncheon includes ham, black-eye peas and cornbread. Recycle your Christmas tree when it begins dropping needles. Dried-out trees should not be left in the home or garage, or placed outside against the home. The City's compost/mulch center is open 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. The center will be closed Christmas weekend, but will be open the Friday and Saturday of New Year's weekend (Dec. 31, Jan. 1). The compost/mulch center is located at 620 Memorial Plaza, behind Fire Station #2. If you don't want to recycle your holiday tree, set it at the curb along with your regular trash.
