Community honors military veterans at fourth annual tribute Nov. 6

The City of Burleson hosted the fourth annual Military Veteran Tribute on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Veterans Memorial Park. Mo Baker, a Burleson resident and prisoner of war at the Hanoi Hilton, was the guest speaker. Hundreds take advantage of purging household hazardous waste and electronics

At last count, 143 Burleson residents participated in the Nov. 6 Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Recycling event at the old service center on Main Street. Vehicles lined Renfro Street at 9 a.m. to be among the first served. If you missed this event, there may be another in the spring. Santa packs breakfast, parade, tree lighting and fireworks all into one day

There's a whole lot of Christmas packed into Saturday, Dec. 4, in Burleson! Santa and his elves will host the annual Santa's Breakfast at the Senior Activity Center (216 S.W. Johnson Ave.), 7 a.m. -11:30 a.m. The Rotary Club's annual lighted Christmas parade steps off from Kerr Middle School at 6 p.m. The City's Christmas tree at the corner of Johnson Avenue and Ellison Street will be outfitted with more than 10,000 lights. Watch at 7 p.m. as the winners of a coloring contest, and Santa, flip the switch on the tree's lights. A fireworks extravaganza will follow the tree lighting. Read more . . .
