TCEQ presents benzene report to City
On Feb. 1, City staff presented council members with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) report concerning TCEQ findings on benzene testing in relation to gas wells. The report showed that Burleson has no gas well sites of concern at this time. Burleson is located in an area of dry gas wells, which means they produce only raw natural gas that does not contain any hydrocarbon liquids (crude oil). Benzene is found in crude oil, gasoline and cigarette smoke. To see the PowerPoint presentation, go to http://tinyurl.com/yc96ggt on the City web site. |
