A major roadway is getting an upgrade while another is being extended. Alsbury Boulevard, between Edgehill Road and Summercrest Boulevard, is undergoing a complete reconstruction from asphalt to concrete. The project also includes a signal at the intersection of Summercrest and Alsbury. Arnold Avenue is being extended from its current dead-end to Hwy. 174, across from Elk Drive. More than 100 said good riddance to household hazardous waste at City event
More than 100 residents disposed of their household hazardous waste the right way Nov. 7 by participating in the City's Household Hazardous Waste collection event. Paint, motor oil, batteries and compact fluorescent light bulbs were among the most popular items. CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) members and employees from public works, the fire department and parks and recreation assisted the City's neighborhood services division. The City of Fort Worth's Crud Cruiser hauled away what was collected. For more on events or alternate disposal sites, call Bianca Chafin, environmental programs specialist, 817-426-9842. |
Residents' street reconstruction headaches are about to get some relief
Good news for those residents, and drivers, in the area of Irene Street, Gardens Boulevard and Gregory Street - in less than two months the street construction will be over. The affected streets are Irene, Gregory, Pecan, Gardens, Ash and Pearce. The water and sewer improvements were needed to relocate pipelines to make room for the storm drain system. In another part of town, waterlines are also being replaced and streets are being repaved, but that work may not be completed until March 2010. Go to http://tinyurl.com/yems6ar on the City web site.

The 2009 Citizen Evaluation is on the City web site, http://tinyurl.com/ykgmdcg. The answers will be used to not only assess the current quality of services but to plan for the future. Those who submit a survey must include their street address. One survey per household will be accepted. |
