In an effort to keep residents from becoming victims of crime, Burleson Police officers are knocking on doors when they find garage doors open or keys left in the ignitions of unattended vehicles. It is against the Texas Transportation Code to leave a vehicle unattended without taking the keys out of the ignition. Keys in the ignition of an unattended vehicle are an open invitation to crime.
