The City of Burleson has launched a new interactive map that can be accessed through the City's web site, www.burlesontx.com. Interactive mapResidents can find property data, property zoning, City and educational facilities, park locations, aerial photographs, trash collection dates, and more. Type in an address or  subdivision name, then use the pan and zoom tools. Golf club and ballItching to play a round of golf?
Itching to play a round of golf? Then drive no further than the City's course, Hidden Creek Golf Course, at 555 E. Hidden Creek Pkwy. The course is open every day except for Christmas. Summer hours are 7 a.m.-8 p.m. weekdays and 6:30 a.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Go to http://tinyurl.com/lsk4kc.
Use caution in Alsbury Boulevard construction zoneConstruction
The traffic cones and barricades are up, and so are the questions about the reconstruction of Alsbury Boulevard. The boulevard on the north side of town is getting a facelift from I-35W to Douglas Street (near Taylor Elementary School). The entire project should be finished by Christmas 2009. To preserve or not to preserve . . . trees
Large canopied tree-lined streets and the preservation of environmentally sensitive areas . . . that's the goal of the proposed tree preservation ordinance presented to Burleson City Council members July 20. Fire Station #3Fire Station #3 opens in August! 
The City of Burleson's third fire station will open in August 2009. The 9,990 square-foot station features a workout room, kitchen, sleeping quarters for seven, a lieutenant's office and an apparatus bay. The station is located at 245 Lakewood Dr., north of Hwy. 174. The $2.217 million funding for the station is coming from 4A half cent sales tax funds, which means everyone who eats, shops, and plays in Burleson, is chipping in on the structure. The third station will provide fire and emergency response to the southwest part of the city, which includes North Joshua Elementary and Caddo Grove Elementary. Go to http://tinyurl.com/mg5fk6

Recycle those old TVs, electronics
What do you do with your old TV or electronics? The Goodwill store will accept all electronics - computers, monitors, accessories, video games, TVs, and radios. Also, check with Best Buy. The electronics store accepts most consumer electronics but may charge a recycling fee for TVs and computers. If you don't want to recycle your old TV, put it at the curb for trash pickup. Report unsightly code violations through the City web site's online forms
High grass/weeds, overflowing dumpsters, junk vehicles, unclean premises, illegal signs and unpermitted garage sales are all against City codes. If you see a violation and want to report it, go to the online forms, http://tinyurl.com/kpen52, on the City web site and dumpster junkdownload Formatta Filler. Then, click on the "Report A Code Violation" form. You need the address of the violation and an explanation of the violation. Include your contact information so a staff person from code enforcement can contact you. Code violation complaints may also be sent to code@burlesontx.com.
Crime reports are just a click away
Thanks to a collaboration between the Burleson Police CrimeReports.comDepartment and CrimeReports.com, anyone can find out what is happening in their city and their neighborhood. The Burleson Community Center is hosting Space Camp July 28-30, 1:30 p.m.-3 p.m. This class is for children 6-12 years old. The cost is $56. Students will learn to draw space ships and aliens in three mediums. Go to http://tinyurl.com/ntfmbg.
