Sprinkler systems OFF, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
The watering of lawns and landscapes using irrigation systems (watering with sprinklers) in the City of Burleson is prohibited for both residential and commercial water customers between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. any day of the year. The purpose of this year-round restriction is to prevent the unnecessary loss of water emitted from sprinklers due to evaporation. Cool off at the City pool at Chisenhall!
Feel like taking a dip in the pool to cool off during these 100-plus degree days? Head to the Burleson Community Center pool at Chisenhall Park. The pool is open, Tuesday-Sunday, through Aug. 16, then limited hours until Labor Day. Daily fees for residents and non-City residents are less than $2. Burleson Recreation Center is taking shape at Bartlett Park! Have you cruised down Summercrest Boulevard and seen the progress of the Burleson Recreation Center at Bartlett Park? Construction is projected to be complete by March 2010. The 65,000-square-foot center will be two stories and include meeting rooms, park offices, an indoor swimming pool, 5-lane lap pool, large fitness center, twin gymnasiums, and elevated jogging track. City offers Texas Hunter Education
The Burleson Community Center is hosting a two-day Texas Hunter Education safety course Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 8-9. This class is for participants who are at least 9 years old. Children, 9-12 years old, must be accompanied by an adult. Saturday's hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday's hours are noon-4 p.m. Go to http://tinyurl.com/m9feol. |

As of Wednesday, July 22, the City will be going live on a new phone system. All of the numbers, with the exception of the Burleson Community Center, Heritage Visitors Center, Hidden Creek Golf Course, and the Senior Activity Center, will change to a 426 prefix. To find the new numbers, go to http://tinyurl.com/npdnto. You will find a list of the Most Wanted City Phone Numbers as well as listings for the City buildings and how to reach Burleson City Council members and city management. You know you've always wanted to be a secret agent, but this one is for kids, 6-12 years old. It is the Burleson Community Center's Secret Agent Lab, July 21-24, 9 a.m.-noon. The cost is $125.
