Red light cameraMake a complete stop before turning right on red
Did you know that it is illegal to turn right on red without first coming to a complete stop? And, that the white line, or stop bar, on the pavement is the proverbial line drawn in the sand? According to Texas Traffic Code, if a driver is facing a steady red signal, that driver must stop at the clearly marked stop line. If there is no stop line painted on the roadway, the driver has to stop before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection. The driver may only turn right after coming to a complete stop and yielding right-of-way to pedestrians.
