Adult recruits needed for 10-week summer Citizen Police Academy
If you want a realistic perspective on professional policing, sign up for the Burleson Police Department's Citizen Police Academy, which starts June 11. This is a free 10-week course. Classes meet every Thursday, 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m., from June 11 to Aug. 20. Applications are available at the police department and must be turned in by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 5. 'Community Livability' is May 28 town hall topic
The fifth town hall meeting of the Imagine Burleson: Roadmap to 2030 effort will take placeThursday, May 28, 6:30 p.m., at the Burleson High School cafeteria. The topic is "Community Livability" and will include what makes Burleson a great place to live and what can be improved to enhance the quality of life. Dinner will be provided. First Teen Court session is May 28
The first session of Burleson Municipal Court's Teen Court is slated for Thursday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Burleson sub-courthouse. At least 15 cases are on the docket.
Teen Court is a voluntary program that allows teens (12-19 years of age) with Class C misdemeanors "pay" for the citations through community service, educational classes, serving on a jury, and being involved in the judicial process. Old Town will rock with Celtic sounds May 29
The streets of Old Town Burleson will be rocking with the Celtic sounds of The Killdares as the City of Burleson's free Hot Sounds of Summer Concert series opens on Friday, May 29. The free concerts will fill the streets between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. every Friday between May 29 and June 26.
