AMENDMENT VOTE FOR REAL HEALTH REFORM: MEDICARE FOR ALL
Call your Representative TODAY--Vote is Tomorrow
Last Thursday, the House of Representatives introduced new health care reform legislation, the Affordable Health Care for America Act (H.R. 3962). Debate on this bill has already started and a floor vote on the full bill is tentatively scheduled for as soon as this Saturday evening. Tomorrow, Friday, November 6 Representative Anthony Weiner's (NY-9) single payer amendment will finally come up for debate and a vote. The amendment would create a national single payer health care system by replacing H.R. 3962 with H.R. 676, Medicare for All. Per House rules prior to the vote, Representative Weiner will have the opportunity to make his case for national single payer health care reform. Not only is this vote is an historic opportunity for the single payer movement, it is also a way for Members of Congress register their support for single payer health care reform-for the record-and lay the groundwork for future change. The National Health Care for the Homeless Council calls upon Mobilizer readers to contact their Representatives today and urge them to support Medicare for All by voting for Rep. Weiner's single payer amendment!
