You can feel change in the air as school is back in session, the weather is cooling a bit and the election season is heating up.
Change is going on at MMUSA as well. We've been fortunate to add new personnel to support our business, a five year plan developed to guide our direction, and new products on the horizon to enhance your business.
A new product we're excited about is the MW40 twin-spindle CNC chucker. If you need to mass produce small high precision parts at lightning fast speed, this machine is a solution for you. Currently in production, this machine will be available for delivery first quarter 2012.
I am often asked if it's possible to eliminate a grinding operation with our turning equipment. The answer is yes in some instances. Reducing the number of operations required to complete a part can have a dramatic impact on the profitability of your project or can mean the difference between landing a new job or keeping an existing job.
Muratec's turning equipment is helping several companies eliminate their grinding operations in both automotive and non-automotive applications.
In one application, we were able to hold a 13 micron tolerance with a 6.3 Rz finish. This print specification called for a grinding operation and Muratec was asked to come up with a solution using our automated turning machines. Through some minor engineering changes, we were able to use our MW200G and eliminate the grinding operation. This resulted in reducing the initial capital outlay for the project and reducing long term labor and tooling costs. Our customer was able secure a substantial contract by showing these cost savings to their customer.
If you'd like information on how on how we can help you eliminate operations and reduce costs, contact your local Muratec representative or call the factory at 800 428 8469.
