Greetings!

A new year brings new opportunities, challenges and a time to make resolutions.

When declaring new year's resolutions, we hope you'll resolve to increase your production by checking out Muratec's machine line-up.  Customers are often pleasantly surprised at how we improve their process when they request a test cut or demo.

Test cuts and demos provide a no-cost or very- low cost way for clients to test and verify part cutting or cycle time concerns on a part.  This can be helpful when bidding on new contracts and projects.  So, don't hesitate to send an e-mail or give us a call if we can help with your project.

Keep your production moving in 2011!

MW50GT
Blazing fast, super quick machine for small parts

By Steve Landrum, Regional Manager-SE Gulf Coast

Murata Machinery has a solid reputation in automated turning with the flagship line of MW series twin spindle lathes.    We are pleased to offer the newest model of that legendary MW lineup.MW50

The MW50GT was designed for maximum part sizes of 50 mm dia x 50 mm in length.   To maximize throughput, idle time was drastically slashed by use of gang-style tooling blocks in front of each spindle as well as a blazing fast load/unload time of the double-handed gantry.

Each 10 HP spindle is directly coupled for super quick acceleration and deceleration.    For a part that requires two operations(A/B load) to complete, this lightning-fast machine is capable of  producing 9.2 secs per part.  (The twin gantry option (GT) is needed for these throughput times.)   Even faster throughput can be realized with an A/A operation!!  At only 1220 mm wide, we minimize the amount of floor space that is required for a twin spindle machine.   For super-precision work, we offer the popular "H" spec version of this machine, in which vibration is reduced to the lowest possible level.

You will quickly find that the speed and reliability of this machine will lead to more profits for your organization.

One of the top five questions potential customers ask our salesmen is, "What about service?"  Murata offers customers the most experienced service group in the machine tool industry.

With our service engineers strategically located throughout the United States, we can respond to customer needs in a minimum amount of time.  In the Charlotte office, several service engineers man the service desk to help customers solve service problems during the day.  After hours tech support is avaialble from 5 pm to 9 pm, Monday through Friday, and 8 am to 12 pm on Saturday.

How can I speed my service call when I call into the service desk?  To speed your call, be sure to have the following informaton on hand when you call:

  • Machine model and serial number
  • Fanuc control model number
  • The numbers of both Fanuc and Murata alarms
  • Be able to tell us what the machine was doing when the problem occurred
  • If gantry related, tell where the loader program stopped (be prepared to fax or e-mail a copy of the program)
For any type of mechanical or electrical problem, contact the service desk at (704 875 9280) and select 8 during the automated answering system.
