Greetings!
Happy New Year!
With the holidays over and 2010 calendars starting to fill, chances are that you are reviewing goals and thinking about how to improve production.
Now may be an ideal time to meet with your Murata salesman to discuss a new machine purchase or the retooling of an idle machine. A test cut or demo may help with decisions whether to maintain status quo or budget for new equipment. If we can help during your review process, please don't hesitate to give us a call (800) 428-8469.

MJ200G -Tailstock Part Support
Twin-Turret Turning Machine
Sr. Director-Operations
Murata Machinery's MJ200G offers customers a great production turning machine for parts that require tailstock support.
Typical automotive part applications for this machine are transmission support shafts and constant velocity joints (CVJ). To minimize cycle time and maximize production, the MJ200G has two turrets capable of working on the part simultaneously.
Tailstock:
The MJ200G tailstock offers a servo-controlled Z-axis and a programmable vertical axis. This allows for quick and accurate positioning of the tailstock spindle to rigidly support the part during cutting and for quick positioning of the tailstock for clearance during automatic load and unload of parts. Typical work size envelope for the MJ200G is Ø150 mm by 200 mm in length.
Twin Turrets:
Two independent ten-station turrets on the MJ200G allow for simultaneous machining of the part. Cycle time can be dramatically reduced when compared to single tool turning.
The MJ200G is in stock and available for quick delivery!

Project Managers Ensure Project Success
By: Mike Duggan, Supervisor
Project Management
At Murata Machinery, a Project Manager is assigned to all machine tool orders to ensure the project is processed accurately, smoothly and on time. After receipt of a purchase order, the PM will conduct a startup meeting with the customer to define project details, create a timeline and ensure all expectations are understood.
During the project, the PM monitors the design phase, build phase, and execution to ensure on-time delivery of your turnkey project or stand-alone machine order. Throughout the order process, the PM updates the customer on the project progress and works through any details that arise.
At project completion, the PM coordinates a run-off (if applicable) to demonstrate part quality, cycle time and machine stability. After delivery, installation and run-off on the customer's floor, the PM resolves all open issues and makes sure personnel are properly trained to guarantee maximum productivity from your investment.

Machine Backups
By David Smith, Field Service Engineer-Trainer
It is the beginning of a new year, so why not start it off with a fresh backup of all critical settings on your machines. This month's topic is very basic but so crucial to keep your machines running that I recommend doing a backup as soon as possible if you have not already done so.
Sometimes we get so focused on keeping machines running and production goals that we forget to keep up-to-date backups. Keeping backups up-to-date saves a lot of headache, not to mention down time, if for some reason information gets lost that is crucial to keeping the machine running.

MMUSA Personnel Update
This month we say "farewell" to Kenichi (Ken) Tomita, Senior Engineer. Ken will be rotating back to Japan as part of his job assignment. He has been an asset to our Engineering Department and will be greatly missed.
