Spirax Sarco Finds Solution with Muratec's MW200
By Keith Wilson, Regional Manager
Spirax Sarco, America's leading provider of steam system solutions, has for nearly a century, been committed to helping steam users optimize productivity. The Challenge
Spirax was using a rotary transfer machine to manufacture steam valve bodies needing multiple sides turned. The machine had a long changeover process and issues with capability. There was an attempt by Spirax to repair the machine, but the repairs and upgrades were unsuccessful.

Protecting Idle Equipment
By Norijuki Honjo, Field Service Engineer
For our customers with idle machines during this economic slowdown, the following are recommendations to protect your machine investment from the problems listed below:
Back up batteries going dead. When this happens, all parameters and program memory will be lost - Make sure all data is backed up (i.e., programs, parameters, and PMC) - Exchange to new battery
The slides, ways and cam followers get rusty - Warm up the machine periodically - Wipe oil on all machined surfaces
Main chuck grease is hard and sticking - Warm up machine periodically The hydraulic oil becomes contaminated and damages pump - Exchange oil and filter prior to extended shutdown
