Feb. 1, 2012
"Are you poised to have your best year ever?" is a topic Chamber members will be exploring in several ways during the next month. At tomorrow's Chamber event, the annual Groundhog Day Business Forecast Breakfast, attendees will hear predictions on the coming business year from leaders of the city, schools, library system and The Shops of Worthington (the most notable redevelopment project currently underway in Worthington). We'll also share your feedback, from the recent online survey, about the local economy and the challenges faced by our Chamber member businesses. On March 6, join other Chamber member businesses as Steve Tamburello, of ActionCOACH Business Coaching/Above the Line, leads us through an informative and motivating Lunch and Learn entitled "Are you poised to have your best year ever?" As you enjoy lunch and networking with others, Steve will identify factors and strategies that will help your business be successful in the remainder of 2012. We have other helpful Lunch and Learn topics scheduled throughout the year.
How can the Chamber help you have your best year ever? Let us count the ways ... at the display tables at our annual meeting on Feb. 21. You'll have the chance to investigate more than 30 varied opportunities for business growth and exposure at our showcase of benefit tables (with a door prize drawing at each!). New trustees and officers will be elected at the business meeting.
Customizing their Chamber membership experience by participating in a subgroup is one way that Chamber members can gear up for a "best year." The Chamber's Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) group is a good example; over the past 10 months, the group has benefited from presentations on a variety of business-building topics and mutual support from fellow participants. Check out the two upcoming SOHO meetings (Feb. 23 and March 22) in the COMING UP section of this e-newsletter. Young Professionals of Worthington (YPoW) members continue to add to their membership and the variety of excellent social, networking, service and educational offerings; the Feb. 29 "Tell Me About Your Shelf" event is no exception. Impact Tips group participants continue to exchange business leads and meaningful connections each Thursday morning as that group continues to grow in value and focus. The Women's Business Network is planning some exceptional programs for 2012, as well; watch for announcements.
Reservations for all of these opportunities can be made in COMING UP, below, or by calling the Chamber office.
Is the Chamber poised to have its best year ever? We hope so. It's true that we often share information about the number of new members (more connections for you) who join or the success of fundraisers that you help to support (gaining business exposure for your company). However, we measure our success by the way we help your business grow and the connections we help you make with other Chamber members. Call us at 888-3040 for one-on-one conversations about the great connections you need to make in 2012.
