Dear Contact First Name, Oct. 31, 2011
Help "Fill it Up" This Week During the Chamber's Annual Membership Drive
Do you know someone who could benefit from Chamber membership? From Tuesday through Thursday, Nov. 1-3, you're encouraged to help the Chamber "Fill It Up" during our annual Membership Drive with that theme. During the drive, prospective members will be offered an incentive of $25 off the one-time processing fee, as well as a package of money-saving coupons. The drive offers an opportunity for you to volunteer on one of six teams on those days (morning or afternoon on Tuesday at King Business Interiors; Wednesday at the office of Ann Baldwin; and Thursday at The Rite Bite) in an organized "call-a-thon" style event. Bring your own prospects -- customers, vendors, neighbors and business contacts who would benefit from the chamber's networking and referral opportunities, advocacy, cost-saving benefits, promotional and educational opportunities. All of the information you need to describe the Chamber's programs and benefits, along with application forms, email and phone "scripts," and additional prospect names will be furnished. Refreshments will be available -- and prize opportunities await in a friendly competition!
More about the "Fill It Up" membership drive...Each time a new member joins the Chamber, your connection opportunities increase. So, throughout 2011, we've asked you to help "fill up" the Chamber with many more members of diverse industries and talents, to continually increase your opportunities to make connections. Each time you recruited a member, a ticket with your name and the new member's name went into our "Fill It Up" raffle drum, color-coded by quarter. Winners from the first three quarters of 2011 already have been chosen from the group of Chamber members who have recruited new members from January through September. These winners will receive a complimentary "headliner sponsor" ad in the Chamber Links e-newsletter (a value of $120). Congratulations to first quarter winner Sonny Patel of Two Brothers Wine & Spirits; second quarter winner Craig Bringman of Bringman Law Offices; and third quarter winner Howard Brody, Licensed Massage Therapist. This week's membership drive is your final opportunity to enter your name into the drawing for both the fourth quarter and the year-end drawings. Remember, the more members you recruit, the more tickets there are with your name, and the more likely you will win a collection of prizes to be awarded at the Nov. 15 Business After Hours. Theme-related items in the grand prize include a gasoline gift card so you can fill up your tank; several hundred dollars of dental services from Anthony Lordo, D.D.S., so you can get a filling or other needed dental service; coaching and learning tools from Wes Mayer of Focal Point Business Coaching that are designed to fill your business development needs and help you ful-fill your goals and aspirations; gift cards to Old Bag of Nails so you can fill your tummy with the pub's famed fish 'n' chips and other treats; and more. (Please email Karen@worthingtonchamber.org if you would like to donate items for the prize package.) We hope you'll join us at the membership drive. Call the Chamber at 888-3040 for further information. Check out additional Chamber activities below. |

Ready, set ... QuickConnect to get new business leads
|
Get Ready ... Get Set ... QuickConnect!
QuickConnect is the Chamber's direct sales opportunity for members, giving participants the opportunity to determine quickly if there is a fit in meeting each other's business or personal consumer needs. It's fun, fast and very effective.
The next QuickConnect session will be held at the SERVPRO of NW Columbus, 7440 Pingue Dr., Worthington 43085 (off Worthington-Woods Boulevard), on Nov. 22 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Check-in is at 9:45 a.m. Please be sure to arrive at this time so the start of the timed exercise will not be delayed.)
The QuickConnect session is structured so that each participant will make one-on-one contact with 10 others. Participants face each other and have 90 seconds to discuss their company's products or services. Following each contact, participants indicate the next steps, including talking further about doing business; not a fit; and offering a referral.
Prior to the session, participants are provided a business profile/feedback form to complete and bring 11 copies to the session.
Please note: You should plan to attend QuickConnect ONLY if you have received a confirmation of your attendance and a copy of the questionnaire to complete, or a notice that your business category is full and you will scheduled at another date. Considerable care is taken to match QuickConnect participants with other Chamber connections. Therefore, we are unable to accommodate walk-ins or unregistered attendees for this session.
For the same reasons, it is important that you contact us to cancel if you will be unable to fill your scheduled space at QuickConnect so that we can rearrange the networking layout to ensure others are not inconvenienced. QuickConnect is free for members who pre-register and honor their reservations -- but there will be a $20 fee for those who do not attend the session if they have not provided advance notice of their cancellation.
To make the session as meaningful as possible to participants, the number of businesses from a single business category (banks, insurance, financial services, etc.) will be limited to two businesses. In addition, members who have not previously participated in QuickConnect are given preference over those from the same business category who have attended a recent session. This procedure expands interest in QuickConnect and helps all participants receive the maximum benefit from the exercise.
Please register by Nov. 17 with the link above or by calling 614-888-3040.
