Opportunity Knocks at 2011 Annual Meeting on Feb. 22
Join the Chamber at our 2011 Annual Meeting "Opportunity Knocks" event on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the Doubletree Hotel Columbus/Worthington, 175 Hutchinson Ave. (Crosswoods area).
From 11 a.m. to noon, you may visit display tables featuring Chamber activities, member benefits and programs, and other opportunities for involvement, including membership in Chamber subgroups and affiliates, volunteer assignments and roles on committees that partner with community partners. Our goal is to assist you in identifying opportunities to participate in Chamber activities that are the best fit for you and your business development plans in the coming year.
If you visit at least six of the "opportunity stations" and sponsor displays (verified by Chamber board members and other volunteers staffing the display tables), you'll receive a key to try in the lock of a door at the front of the ballroom. If your key opens the lock, you'll win an Apple iPad (sponsored by Chamber-member technology company, CSC) waiting behind the door!
And, whenever you complete a form at one of the stations, agreeing to serve as a sponsor or volunteer for a Chamber activity during 2011, you will be eligible to win several additional door prizes awarded during the annual meeting.
The luncheon will begin at noon, and the Doubletree is creating a special meal for attendees. Our program will highlight various ways in which members made connections with each other in 2010, and we'll conclude with an "Opportunity Knocks" audiovisual presentation featuring members taking part in Chamber activities throughout the year.
We'll also elect new officers and board members and thank outgoing leaders of the organization. Nominated for new three-year terms are Joe Davis, Worthington Jewelers, and Amy Hall, DeVry University. Pat Bright, Comfort Inn Polaris, is nominated for re-election to a three-year term after completing an unexpired term vacated by Erin Ellis. Filling an unexpired term vacated by Norris Woods, Marissa Michaels is nominated to continue OhioHealth's presence on the board. Appointed to an additional one-year term allowing her to serve a second year as chairperson is Kay Lakhi, The Rite Bite. Additional officers nominated are Paul Cynkar, Battelle for Kids, treasurer; and Sheila Sinno, Sinno Law Office, chair-elect. Retiring from the board are Lynn Nadler, Keller Williams Capital Partners - LaBuda Advantage Team, and Shera Skaggs, CSGraphics. Shera, previously serving as chair-elect, will be unable to serve as chair in 2011 due to family caregiver issues.
The program will end at 1:15 p.m.
Event sponsors are Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield, CompManagement Inc., CSC, DeVry University and Doubletree Hotel Columbus/Worthington.
