Young Professionals of Worthington forming leadership team, program structure for coming year
YPoW logo no sponsor
The Chamber's board of trustees is seeking candidates to head the Leadership Team of the Young Professionals of Worthington (YPoW) group during the coming year. Please let us know if you would like to be a part of this effort.

Young professionals enjoy networking, volunteer and philanthropic opportunities through the group. With the help of a seven-person steering committee of volunteers, YPoW was piloted for a year without cost. The program will now be open to Chamber members ages 21-39 who pay a $30 annual participation fee. (Spouses, friends and others whose companies are not currently Chamber members can join the Chamber at the individual $99 rate, and the $25 one-time registration fee will be waived.) The fees will be effective with the beginning of the program year, launched with a kickoff event scheduled this fall.

YPsYPoW will be steered during the coming year by a leadership team consisting of a chairperson and six co-chairs managing three committees. Each will serve a one-year term. One of the six co-chairs will be identified as the chair-elect for the following year. The committees, each with two co-chairs, include Program (responsible for planning mixers, service and philanthropic events, leadership and development events), Membership & Retention (charged with recruiting and retaining YPoW members), and Major Events (leading the planning of the Health & Wellness Fair and coordinating assistance to the Chamber's major events, including Reds, Whites & Desserts, A Taste of Worthington, the golf outing and Market Day).

In addition, YPoW will maintain a Volunteer Corps -- a group of interested young professionals who are interested in participating in volunteer and committee support roles, but may not have time to serve in a committee leadership role this year.

The chair, committee co-chair and Volunteer Corps positions will be filled within the next month. If you are age 21-39, during the next two weeks please let us know which positions interest you and best suit your skills. YPs interested in serving as chairs or volunteers should contact the Chamber at connect@worthingtonchamber.org and indicate their level of interest. Please use "YPoW" leadership as the subject line in your response. Or, you may call Theresa at the Chamber office at 888-3040.

---------------------------------------------------------

The Chamber's board of trustees has a designated YPoW liaison and a Subgroup Oversight Committee overseeing the programs of YPoW, the Women's Business Network and the Impact Tips Group. Year-round, YPoW appreciates the sponsorship of 2010-2011 YPoW sponsors AAA Ohio Auto Club and Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield.
