Staff Appreciation Luncheon on April 20 explores Pat Snyder's "Tales and Tips from an Overbooked Life"

Dog Ate Planner coverWhether you are in management or are part of a working team, you share the extra stresses of today's workplace created by instant messaging: Customers and clients want instant answers and results! E-mails, faxes, text messages and "tweets" have added to the stressful pace, along with the bleak economic conditions of the past few years.

"We race to keep up and put foolproof systems in place. But just when we think we're on top of it all, Plan A goes amuck and we're off to Plan B or Plan C or Plan D," notes Pat Snyder from Power Communications, a "recovering attorney" who believes that laughter can chase away the chaos in our lives -- and our workplaces.

Pat SnyderAuthor of the Suburban News Publication column  "Balancing Act" for nearly a decade, Pat works to help others reduce stress by bringing more fun and laughter into their lives and jobs. Drawing from her recently published volume, The Dog Ate My Planner: Tales and Tips from an Overbooked Life, she will present an informative and entertaining message for Chamber members at the Chamber's annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon on Tuesday, April 20, at Worthington Hills Country Club. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. The luncheon and program will last from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The Chamber has planned this special annual event to help you show your appreciation to staff members and co-workers of all job levels, coinciding with Administrative Professionals Week. The luncheon will help you honor key staff members and colleagues by providing a delicious lunch, an entertaining and motivating program ("Don't Let the Dog Eat Your Planner at Work"), and gifts for guests, sponsored by Power Communications and Mimosa Floral Design.

Worthington Hills Country Club has planned a special menu to help say "thanks." Guests will enjoy stuffed flank steak (braised and thinly sliced, drizzled with mushroom sauce and served with potatoes au gratin and haricots verts, beverages, salad, rolls and a chef's choice of dessert). Vegetarian or other special offerings are available to accommodate your needs upon request; please note these in the comment section with your registration.

In addition to the gift sponsors, event sponsors committed at press time include Career Choices Unlimited and MT Business Technologies. Sponsors will have information tables at the event, offer introductions about their products and services, and present door prizes. Sponsorship opportunities are still available; call 888-3040 for more information. Reservations for the event are $27 for members and their guests and $32 for non-members and their guests. The fee includes lunch, entertainment and gifts for guests.

The registration deadline is Thursday, April 15.
