are the Chamber's newest advertising and promotional opportunity.
E-serts replace bulk-mailed paper inserts that required preprinting of
1,200 fliers by the sponsoring Chamber business, followed by lengthy
and costly collating, stuffing and traditional bulk mailing. E-serts
are timelier, more affordable, easier on the environment, and reach
more prospective customers, as Chamber members who receive Chamber
Links can readily forward them to other contacts.

 Join the Chamber for a Lunch and Learn on "The 10 Commandments of Networking at a Mixer," presented by Mark Storey, coach-trainer from Certified Networker of Columbus, on Tuesday, Jan. 19, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
The event will be hosted at ActionCOACH Business Coaching, 716 Mt. Airyshire Blvd., Ste. 100, Columbus 43235. Learn from an expert how to make the most of networking opportunities from the Chamber.
Attendees will be provided with a form with space for each one of the 10 items. Mark Storey will facilitate a discussion about each one ... what it is, why it's important, and how Chamber members can ensure they are using it effectively.

Groundhog Day Breakfast continues community tradition

An annual community tradition returns on Tuesday, Feb. 2, as the Chamber presents the Groundhog Day Community Forecast Breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. at Brookside Country Club.
Share in community leaders' predictions for 2010 and consider how their predictions might affect area businesses. Learn about key events during the past year and planned initiatives from Worthington's City Manager Matt Greeson; Worthington Libraries Director Meribah Mansfield; and Worthington Schools Superintendent Melissa Conrath. You'll also learn the results of the Chamber's most recent member survey about the economy and member satisfaction. (Watch for the survey, coming soon via e-mail.

Discover "What's in it for ME?" at 2010 Annual Meeting

Discover "What's in it for ME?" at the Chamber's 2010 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the Holiday Inn Columbus/Worthington, 7007 N. High St.
From 11:15 a.m. to noon, check in and and preview "What's In It for Me?" opportunities at display tables manned by volunteers who are familiar with the Chamber's varied program and benefit offerings. Participate in prize drawing opportunities at each station.
From noon to 1:15 p.m., enjoy lunch and participate in the business meeting that includes the annual election of trustees and officers, as well as a program reviewing the past year and outlining plans for the remainder of 2010.  New to the Chamber? Take the opportunity to meet other new members and learn about Chamber programs and services at a quarterly orientation meeting, designed to help you get the most from your membership and jump-start your involvement.
Our Jan. 28 new member event will be held at Homewood Suites by Hilton, 115 Hutchinson
Ave., Columbus 43235. The event begins at 8:15 a.m. and concludes by 10:30.
New members and new contacts at current members are encouraged to attend. Attendees
have the opportunity to promote their businesses while learning about Chamber initiatives, programs and services to help them grow their businesses.

2010 Group Rating Renewal Reminder |
If your organization has been participating in our Workers' Compensation Group Rating Program, or you requested a review for 2010, you should have received your group enrollment information by mail from our administrator, CompManagement, Inc.
 To continue to enjoy one of the benefits of being a member of our Chamber and receive substantial savings on your workers' compensation premiums, you must submit your enrollment documents to CompManagement by Feb. 24. If you have not yet requested a review, have not received your 2010 group rating enrollment information, or simply have questions, please contact CompManagement's Customer Support Unit at (800) 825-6755, option 3. |

Join the Women's Business Network of the Chamber for a presentation and book-signing event on
"Discover Your Inner Strength" on Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 11:30 to 1:15 at Crowne Plaza Columbus North, 6500 Doubletree Ave.
Keynote speaker Leslie Meyer-Miller was selecte d following a nationwide search to be featured in Discover Your Inner Strength, from Insight Publishing. The book features best-selling authors Stephen R. Covey (Seven Habits of Highly Effective People), Brian Tracy (Million Dollar Habits), and Ken Blanchard (One Minute Manager).
Working for over 17 years in the health field, Leslie has a passion for health and wellness. In 2001, she founded Passage Insights, LLC, a Chamber-member business focused on the area of wellness and living proactively. Today, her mission in life is to help people achieve optimal health. Through Leslie's own life experiences and professional training she has developed systems of health and well-being while empowering people to take charge and care of themselves.

YPoW is organized by the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce to equip young professionals who live and work in the Worthington area with networking, educational and social opportunities.
