Hey There!
Today, in honor of Valentine's Day, I'm going to talk about LOVE ... in the context of Email Marketing, of course.
Last month's email was all about using your unique voice to communicate with your audience. This month we're going to talk about how to use that voice to communicate in a language that resonates with them.
A few years ago my husband and I learned about the 5 Love Languages and how they impact relationships. And of course there's an application for your business.
Because Email Marketing and Social Media are communication and relationship building tools, learning your customer's love language can help you understand how to communicate your appreciation in a way that is most meaningful to them.
Of course, the Love Languages can also improve communications with your significant other. Check the sidebar to learn more about that.
Happy Valentine's!

Are you speaking your customer's love language?
How to sweet talk your customers, subscribers, friends and followers in a language they can understand.
In the context of email marketing and social media, how can you communicate in a way that your customers will understand and appreciate? Let's look at the 5 Love Languages and apply it to your email marketing and social media strategies: 1. Words of Affirmation Let them know how much you appreciate them. Personalize your greeting to include their first name. Send them a Thank You when they complete a survey, or a welcome letter when they become a new customer or subscriber. For frequent customers, you can send them a special note when they reach a certain milestone. Also, acknowledge your fans when they comment on your page or write on your wall. 2. Quality Time Give them your full attention. Let your customers know it's all about them. In your emails and social media posts, follow the 80/20 rule, post and share helpful content and engage with your audience 80% of the time and promote 20%. You can also ask them for their feedback with a survey or poll.
3. Receiving Gifts Shower them with gifts, special offers and promotions. You can give these customers a gift with purchase, a loyalty program or even a promotional item. Online, you can give them free downloads, valuable content and virtual gifts. "Gift wrap" your gift with a nice design or graphic.
4. Acts of Service Give excellent customer service. Go the extra mile for your customers. Respond to their posts and inquiries online. Give expert advice or do some research on their behalf and serve it up in your emails and posts.
5. Physical Touch Reach out and touch (engage) your audience. Communicate on a regular basis with your customers, subscribers and fans. Give them some "face time" by including a profile picture in your emails. Set up opportunities to engage them through in-store events, seminars and/or webinars.
The main takeaway: Connect with your audience in ways they will find meaningful.
Now, Words of Affirmation is my love language, so if you found this helpful, let me know.

WiredIn Women was founded by 2 women - Janie and Sze in Miami, FL. They decided to put a community together to provide the opportunity to pull all the women out there who want to learn and share ideas and best practices into one place. As social media and technology change so rapidly, they felt the need to stay together and support each other as we, and our businesses, grow.
