Dreamweavers is happy to announce the completion of our CARF Survey!
Two CARF surveyors visited our offices on July 20th &21st. Surveyors Carol and Lynn, from Minnesota and Indiana respectively, were friendly and made Dreamweavers Staff feel comfortable from the orientation at 8:00am on the 20th and throughout the entire survey.
Over the course of the next day and a half, they interviewed staff, parents, consumers, and community stakeholders. They audited charts and did an internal review of our policies and procedures. At noon on the 21st, we all moved anxiously back to the long table to meet with Carol and Lynn for the "de-briefing."
We were pleasantly surprised by the report. The comments were glowing and the recommendations were few. Carol could not stop smiling as she repeatedly told us that the policies and procedures we had in place were exceptional, especially considering the size of our organization. Lynn shared with us some of the wonderful comments that were made about Dreamweavers when she interviewed people from the company and community. Most importantly, she said that she could tell that parents trusted us with their children.
We got two exemplary write-ups, which were made even more exciting after Carol informed us that she had not written up an exemplary in 2 years. One focused on our Spanish intake packet and the other on our Sibshops, Autism Fair, and community involvement.
Although we will not have a final result on the status of our accreditation for 6-8 weeks, we were left feeling very positive that we would be accredited. As soon as we have the final results, we will share them with you!
Thank you for all of your support throughout this process. It has been long, and sometimes difficult, but the improvements to our company have been a great success. As always, it is only with your help and support that we can keep reaching for dreams!
In the words of Lynn the surveyor...
"We have been CARF-ED!!!"
Sincerely,
