Arbor Day 2009 Keep DeKalb Beautiful (KDB) will bring our Arbor Day celebration to a truly urban setting! On Saturday, February 21st, a street side tree installation will take place along the right-of-way segment of Covington Highway between S. Hairston Road, and Hidden Chase in Stone Mountain.
KDB, the DeKalb County Extension Service, and the DeKalb County Parks & Recreation Department, will coordinate efforts with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Berean Christian Church to beautify this segment of Covington Hwy and prevent further accumulation of litter along an area that receives a high volume of foot traffic.
These trees and the efforts of our volunteers will go a long way towards "planting a legacy" of environmental stewardship in our County.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!
Saturday, February 21, 2009 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Berean Christian Church 2201 Young Road Stone Mountain, Georgia 30088Volunteers for the event are to meet at Berean Christian Church and will be transported via shuttle to the event location.
