Customer Connection: Meet Cheryl Day of Cerro Gordo, IL The 2010 Midwest Region "Farm Mom of the Year" Winner |

Cheryl Allen was inspired to be a ninth generation farmer while growing up the youngest of five siblings on her family's Menard County grain and livestock farm near Petersburg. Active in 4-H and FFA as a youth, Cheryl developed a special passion for raising and exhibiting beef cattle.
After earning a bachelor's degree in Agriculture Business from Illinois State University, she married a Piatt County farm boy, Mike Day. Cheryl and Mike, along with their two children, raise corn, soybeans and registered Angus cattle in rural Cerro Gordo. In addition to her agriculture enterprises, Cheryl serves as the executive director of Illinois Association of Drainage Districts and freelances as an agriculture communicator and public relations consultant. Staff In The Spotlight: Derek Stayton
Meet a Farm Credit vice president & loan officer from the Taylorville branch office "It is very gratifying to be a resource that helps family farms achieve their goals and dreams." |
 Derek was raised on the Stayton Family Farm located just northwest of Carlinville and was very active in both 4-H and FFA. At college in Macomb, Derek worked on the university farm, competed on the WIU Livestock Judging Teams, and was a student leader in various agriculture organizations. Derek didn't need any transition time between graduating from college and launching his career. he turned his tassel at WIU graduation on the weekend and reported to work at Farm Credit the following Monday. | Farm Credit Breaks Ground For New Decatur Office |

Farm Credit Services of Illinois held a groundbreaking ceremony on April 14 at the construction site for a new branch office facility in Decatur near West Mound Road and Illinois Route 121. The construction is expected to be complete in October.

31 4-H & FFA Groups Awarded $250 Community Improvement Grants |

Nearly $8,000 has been awarded to thirty-one different Illinois 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters to assist members in completing an improvement project in their local community.
