Welcome to the Winter 2010 Edition of our
Henderson-Johnson Co. Inc. Newsletter

Salmon River
 Central School District

Fort Covington, NY

Working with school schedules are always a challenge, especially when students occupy the building as construction is taking place. So when Henderson-Johnson Co. Inc. went into pre-job planning for the Salmon River Central School District Addition and Renovation Project, job safety, logistics and occupant safety were the first topic on the agenda.

A crew of over 20 workers were in full swing this summer getting the site ready so that work could continue after the students arrived in the fall. This job included interior drywall, exterior framing, sprayed polyurethane foam, acoustic ceilings and light gauge metal framing.

      Salmon River CSD

Brennan Binsack, H-J Project Manager explains that a Dietrich HD Header System used on this job was helpful in savings on labor and expediting the exterior framing. The ceiling layouts were a challenge because of the use of atypical 6 inch lights in the grid system. Insulation properties were a consideration on this job and the use of H-J's sprayed polyurethane foam product fit the bill perfectly.

Henderson - Johnson Co. Inc. will be on this job until the summer of 2011. Dave Young is the Superintendant and Les O'Marah is the Foreman on this project.

O'Conner Hospital Project

In-Patient Pharmacy

Delhi, NY

The Spacesaver division's healthcare specialist, Angie Bowker, creates a new work-flow using Spacesaver's FrameWRX and Wheelhouse along with Steel Solutions USA's antimicrobial, modular casework.

By using "Frameworks" for the inpatient pharmacy at O'Connor Hospital, Henderson-Johnson was able to create a more usable work flow in an otherwise cramped space.  FrameWRX is a versatile cantilevered rail and shelving system perfect for storing items of various sizes such as medications, solution bags and other supplies for Pharmacies and Clean Utility areas.

In the outpatient pharmacy at O'Connor Hospital, Henderson-Johnson replaced their existing shelving with Spacesaver's "Wheelhouse" (shown below), a low profile high density storage system designed to double storage capacity. The outpatient's millwork cabinets were replaced with Steel Solutions USA's antimicrobial cabinetry (shown below) using an exact color match to the Spacesaver "Wheelhouse". Taking into consideration that this location was the only pharmacy in town, H-J worked with the customer to schedule around their busy hours.
