PEPPERDASH QUITS PROGRAMMING!
April 1, 2010, Allston, MA
|
PepperDash President/CEO Howard Nunes |
In a move that is sure to rock the AV world, PepperDash
Technology Corp., previously a leading provider of AV control programming services,
announced today that it was discontinuing all control programming activity and
dedicating itself to the production of "a higher level of hot sauce."
Effective immediately, all control programmers will be
retooling as culinary chemists. "It's a
good thing everyone is so saucy around here," said President/CEO, Howard
Nunes. "Our team is already hard at work
preparing pickled pepper pleasures to pique people's pallets!" Nunes refused, however, to say that three
times fast.
PepperDash will be introducing its new line of pepper sauces
over the coming weeks. Inside sources
have hinted that they will be a whole new level of hot. VP/COO, David Huselid, stated "you
can expect the same outstanding quality in our sauces as you have seen in our
services, just spicier." Sumanth
Rayancha, VP/CTO, would not confirm that ingredients may include bhut
jolokia, the famous one-million-Scovilles peppers of India. "We are keeping the details close to the vest
for now, but you will see something truly scorching. Keep the Maalox handy."
The idea came up during a strategy meeting, as a way to
"recession-proof" the company during tough economic times. Says CFO, Philip Walker, "Hey, people gotta
eat. Right?" According to Nunes, it's
all for the best. "Ten years ago, we
chose 'PepperDash' as a company name so that if things didn't work out with
programming we could go into food services."
Sources from General Foods have refused comment about PepperDash
as an acquisition target.

If you made it this far, we sure hope you enjoyed our
April Fools' fun. Still, if you have a good name for a new AV-themed Hot Sauce, let us
know. Just in case.

Title: Administrative Assistant. Unofficially: "Hey, Mary, can you..." Tell us about your job:More or less, I run around behind the scenes doing a little bit of everything for just about everyone. What aspect of your job interests you the most?
I love that I never know what direction my day might take
(except on days with deadlines!). This
particular brand of "organized chaos" constantly affords the opportunity to
learn and tackle projects I never expected to encounter.
What's the most high tech gadget that you own?
Admittedly, I am very low tech. My most high tech gadget might be my RCN
remote, which has been programmed to control my TV, Cable, Blu-ray and sound
system - and that only happened because "I know a guy." Otherwise, my most high tech gadgets would be
4+ remotes.
3 Songs currently on your playlist:
Anything and everything with which I can sing
along - usually loudly, with gusto, and tending toward musical ADD.
Empire State of Mind - Jay-Z/Alicia Keyes Filet o' Fish jingle - McDonald's Close Your Eyes - James Taylor/Carly Simon Best Advice:
Strive for flexibility and have a little faith. In an
industry where change is constant - be it project requirements, deadlines, or
unforeseen obstacles - it's crucial to the success of the project (and
everyone's sanity) to meet in the middle when reasonably possible, and trust
that we do everything in our power to maximize efficiency and get the job done
well.
