Congratulations, Paul Kuehnert
NIPHC congratulates Paul Kuehnert, Executive Director of the Kane County Health Department, for being elected to the NACCHO Board of Directors. Mr. Kuehnert represents United States Public Health Service Region V, which covers Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Membership on the NACCHO Board of Directors carries with it responsibility for the fiscal and policy oversight of the organization, including managing the business, property and affairs of NACCHO. |
First 2008 Human Case of West Nile Virus Reported in Kane County
In mid-August, the Kane County Health Department handled the state's first human case of West Nile Virus reported this year. A 28-year-old woman from Aurora was diagnosed with West Nile Virus. Details can be read at Kane County Health Department's press release. To date, subsequent human cases in Illinois have been reported in Montgomery, Macon, and Cook Counties.
