Dear Educator,

The Texas Middle School Association is proud to present our 34th Annual Conference and  Exhibit.  On March 5-7, 2009 you can join more than 2,500 of your peers as they descend upon the Galveston Island Convention Center to "Discover the Treasure of the Young Adolescence."

We have developed an impressive cadre of internationally recognized experts who will share their best practices and inspire attendees to reach new heights in their professional and personal lives. 

If you work with children ages 10 - 16, you won't want to miss this event!

General Session Speakers  include Dr. Marcia Tate and Jack Berckemeyer.

In addition, our conference will feature Monte Selby, Debbie Silver, Randy Thompson, Diana Day, Kathy Koch, Paul Slocumb, Ruben Perez, and Rita Pierson.

Topping off the available professional development opportunities at the conference are the more than 150 breakout sessions, presented by educators from across the state.

Give Back to Galveston Concert and Reception

Monte Selby
The Texas Middle School Association is pleased to "Give Back to Galveston" with a special conference performance by Monte Selby and Special Friends. Please plan on attending this special event.  Dr. Monte Selby - an energetic advocate for educators and children - is known to audiences internationally for his unique keynote and workshop presentations.  Stimulating thinking through humor, movement, interaction and original music, his creative approach is enthusiastically received by educators, parents and students. Monte is an experienced teacher and principal, former leadership columnist for National Middle School Association's magazine Middle Ground -
and currently associate professor of school leadership in the Teachers College at Emporia State University.

A cash bar and appetizers will be provided.

Proceeds from the event will go to Galveston Island restoration effortsHelp us give back to Galveston.
