Greetings!
We know from reading God's word and through our own experiences, individually and as a church, that our prayers matter to God. And so let's continue to praise Him and thank Him for allowing each of us to be a source of hope, truth and assurance to all who will listen. - Let's ask Him to give us many more opportunities to reach a broader spectrum of people, including family, friends and neighbors, who are prepared by the Holy Spirit, to be open to spiritual things that we might say to them or introduce them to. - Trust in the Lord to give us a sense of purpose, as well as joy in the things that we do everyday. - The Church Staff |

"Lions" Graduate
Fitting Ceremony Held Yesterday
Six first year and three second year attendees of the Lion's Den School summer program graduated yesterday during a ceremony held in conjunction with the Good News Hour. Pastor Keith Ferrante, --- of the Mission in Vacaville, CA was guest speaker. Pastor Hansel and Natalie Orzame, directors of the school, officiated in the graduation ceremony. They made their welcome and introductory remarks following which a slideshow depicting the activities of the Class of 2012 was shown. Members of the class came up to the front of the sanctuary when Pastor LJ asked them to come forward and to give prophetic words to members of the congregation whom they picked out themselves. Certificates were awarded to several class members as follows: "Most Improved" - Ashley Kinder; "Subcutaneous" Award - Brian Rampas; Cycle Award - Martin (Tito) Cabrera; and Leadership Award - Riley Charles. A special original song entitled "Fragrance" was sung by the trio consisting of Tessa Charles who wrote the lyrics of the song (first time ever), Jayson Alano (who made the musical arrangement for the first time as well) and Laurice Orense (who sang for the first time in front of an audience). Tessa testified to the congregation that the lyrics of the song came to her as a word from God for Pastor Joannie when she told the latter that "God anoints you with your own tears." Tessa aptly dedicated their song to Pastor Joannie. The diplomas were conferred to the graduates after Pastor Keith's commencement sermon. The first year graduates are Lerma Aquino, Rebekah Bernardo, Martin J. (Tito) Cabrera, Ashley Kinder, Brian Rampas and Victoria (Vim) Santos. The second year graduates are Jocelyn Torres, Riley Charles and Archie Cabrera. The school staff consisted of Hansel and Natalie Orzame as School Directors, Michael and Joanna Alano as Kingdom Teachers, L J Dijamco as 2d Year Overseer and Worship Leader, Martin Cabrera, Jr. as Creativity Overseer and Worship Leader and Tessa Charles as Intern.

Good News Hour Message
A Challenge to Both Generations
Keith Ferrante, one of the guest faculty at the Lion's Den School who came down to us from the Mission in Vacaville, was the Good News Hour and Commencement Speaker at our Sunday service.
-
His message was essentially a challenge to both the younger and older generations of the church to work together. He counseled the younger generation not to think that they know it all, to honor the knowledge and wisdom of the older generation even if the latter may not have accomplished or achieved things that the younger generation have.
-
He also left word for the older generation to "open the doors, release joy, celebrate and praise" the younger generation as they work together in the service of the church.
-
He further prophesied that "today is the turning point for this house..." and just like in a relay race, there is a point where a runner and the succeeding runner holds the baton together, otherwise there is no continuity and the race cannot go on.
-
"Out in the world there is always need for more. In God's Kingdom culture, there is always enough," he said. "We need a truthful heart to keep us focused."
-
"As you see what God is doing, expect breakthroughs!"
-
Thank you, Pastor Keith, for sharing a positive message with us. |

Monday SGF
Done with the Old, On with the New
Ruth Jordan announced yesterday that as their group's custom is, they will hold a "fiesta" for finishing the study "40 Days in the Word." This Monday evening Small Group Fellowship will start yet another series of studies entitled "You make Me Crazy."
The group's book and bible drive for the Prison Ministry will end this week, and the report indicates they are now very close to the 500 books and bibles collected that they have set as their goal. |

Ministry of Grace Corner
It is God's part, as our Senior Partner in this ministry, to supply and multiply the required resources.
2 Corinthians 9:8-10 (CEV) "God can bless you with everything you need, and you will always have more than enough to do all kinds of good things for others. the scriptures say, 'God freely gives his gifts to the poor, and always does right.' God gives seed to farmers, and provides everyone with food. He will increase what you have, so that you can give even more to those in need." |

Planning for Success
"I know, O Lord, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps." - Jeremiah 10:23
In business I hear a lot about planning. Every January I hear workplace believers establishing their planning for the year. Corporations establish plans that cover anywhere from one to five years. Individuals establish personal life plans. There is only one problem that I see with most planning done by well-meaning believers. If God is not the originator and director of the plan, then that plan is doomed for failure. So often, Christian workplace believers set out to plan something that seems good in their own mind. The merits of what is being planned can look great, and it can even be a worthy endeavor. However, that is not the point. When Jesus said He came only to do the will of the Father, He could not consider doing anything that was not what the Father wanted, no matter how good or righteous it might appear to be.
"In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps" (Prov. 16:9). God must give us the vision for what He calls us to do. After we have the vision, we must ask Him if He wants us to take action on that vision and what the action steps entail. The Lord wants to direct each step of the planning process. David learned this lesson when he went to battle against his enemy, the Philistines. One day he inquired of God as to whether he was to go up against the Philistines, and the Lord said, "Yes, but only when you hear the marching in the balsam trees." It is a mistake to reason and analyze in order to come to a decision on a matter. The Lord already knows the answer. It is our responsibility to seek Him to find out His mind on the matter. Our planning must be established in Him. Only when we remain so connected to the source can we be assured of putting God's plan into place. Also, getting that plan confirmed through others will assure that we are not following the deceit of our own heart.
When you begin to plan next time, ask God for His wisdom for establishing the vision and action steps. You will be surprised how well He can plan.

Thank You for helping me to put You first in my life and for helping me to minister in one accord with my brothers and sisters in Christ...with the team You have assembled for Your glory.
Thank You for hearing my prayer and for working Your will in my life. In His name I pray. Amen. |
