Greetings!
Have you ever been through a "meltdown?" In Numbers 11:11-15 we find a record of one of the most honest and unrestrained prayers you'd find in the bible.  Moses was being pummeled with the most furious complaints from the children of Israel, and God wasn't happy with them.
Moses was tired and discouraged, and he probably thought, "I didn't ask for this job in the first place," and then he reaches his breaking point and asks God, "Why have you brought this trouble on your servant?  What  have I done to displease you that you put the burden of all these people on me?  Did I conceive all these people?  Did I give them birth? Why do you tell me to carry them in my arms, as a nurse carries an infant, to the land you promised on oath to their forefathers? Where can I get meat for all these people?  They keep wailing to me, 'Give us meat to eat!' I cannot carry all these people by myself; the burden is too heavy for me.  If this is how you are going to treat me, put me to death right now -- if I have found favor in your eyes -- and do not let me face my own ruin." (NIV)
 -
Sounds like a meltdown more than a prayer, doesn't it?  Can you feel his despair? And yet, there's a difference between him and the Israelites.  They complained about God to each other, but Moses brought all his fears, frustrations and exhaustion to God. He was at the end of his rope and yet he turned his heart to the Lord and brought his questions to his Father in heaven.
 -
Do you think this prayer sounds audacious?  It may be, but as Moses laid bare his heart, he opened up a conversation with God who invites us to come to Him as we are: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
(Matthew 11:28 NIV)

Keith Ferrante

The Lion's Den School has come to its graduation exercises this summer after about three months of instructions from our local faculty headed by Pastor Hansel Orzame, and several guest faculty, one of whom is Guest Speaker for the Sunday program and the Good News Hour rolled into one.

"Keith Ferrante and his wife, Heather, are currently directors of the School of the Nations and also oversee the 2nd year of the Potter's House School of the Supernatural at The Mission in Vacaville, California.

"Keith's desire is to raise up revivalists who change cultures, walk in their prophetic destiny with signs and wonders following. Keith is a prophetic teacher who brings people into encounters with God through his teaching. He is also a worship leader who provokes people into freedom in God through worship.

"Keith carries a strong anointing to break the heavens open over churches, regions and nations through their worship, prophetic teaching, and impartation. They have planted supernatural schools in the nations." He also heads the School of Supernatural Ministry in Singapore.

Prison Ministry

Monday Night SGF poses with some of the books and bibles they have been collecting.

The bible study group that meets on Monday evening and coordinated by Ernie and Ruth Jordan continues to collect soft-bound and paperback Christian books and bibles for their Prison Ministry.  The book drive goes on till the first weekend of September.  Ruth says: "We are waiting for the Holy Spirit to move in the hearts of people to donate more books, to reach and even to surpass our Spirit-led goal" of gathering 500 books and bibles. As of press time, the count is 420.

-

There is a large white box at the church foyer where you can lay down the books and bibles you donate. Please make sure there are no names, addresses or other personal information written within the covers of these books.
September 21-22
For Men Only

The Men's Breakfast Group Retreat happens in only a few weeks away. Are you men ready? Instead of being just a regular breakfast meeting, this one will be a "mini-retreat" based on the showing of the popular movie "Courageous," on Friday, September 21 at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday morning, September 22, beginning at 8:30 a.m. the men will break-out into groups to have bible based discussions using a study guide provided with the film.

Invite male members of your family, friends and neighbors. Young men, mature men, single or married are welcome to participate.

Ministry of Grace Corner
No Pressure

The ministry of grace is not giving under pressure. Leadership should not interfere with the motivation of the believers in their giving.

2 Corinthians 9:7 - "Each of you should give as you have decided in your heart to give.  You should not be sad when you give, and you should not give because you feel forced to give.  God loves the person who gives happily."

Our Labor in the Lord

"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." - 1 Corinthians 15:58

There is a paradigm shift going on among a remnant of workplace believers today. That paradigm shift is a focus on using our business and work life as a platform for ministry versus a platform solely for material success. There is a remnant of workplace believers throughout the world today who understand their birthright in the workplace is to reflect Christ fully in and through their work. It is reflected by a commitment to use their resources and skills to provide a product of excellence with the overall motive to affect people for Jesus Christ. The difference is that these individuals have an overriding ministry objective to their work.

When the apostle Paul tells us to fully work unto the Lord, he does not mean we must be working as missionaries in "full-time Christian effort." He understands that all of life is holy and sacred to God. If our motive is to serve God where we are, then our labor "in the Lord is not in vain."

As you begin your work today, ask God if you are working with the primary motive of reflecting His life and character through your work on this day. Let nothing move you from this motive being central to your activity. The Lord will reflect His power and leading in and through your life when this becomes your primary motive.

Meditation

Lord, You are the Potter; I am the clay. Thank You for molding me and making me, according to Your will. Show me the steps and direct my ways so that all I do will be Your will for my life; that Your purpose may be accomplished. To You be all glory and honor. In Jesus' name, amen.
