Greetings!
How grateful we are to our Lord for a privilege we often take for granted: that of being in a country where we are free to worship Him and share our faith with others!
Until Jesus comes to take us, His children, to heaven we are earthbound and must, therefore, always ask Him to make it our business to bless our communities, our cities and our nation through steadfast intercession, not because He doesn't see what our earthly needs are, but because He loves to see abundant faith coming from our hearts as we tell Him our cares and concerns.
Claim your blessings each day as you meet your challenges this week, always mindful that "without faith, it is impossible to please God..." HEBREWS 11:6 The Church Staff |

Jesus Culture Guests Swell our Ranks
First Sunday Program Features Our Youth on Fire!
| |
Pastor Hansel elicits testimonies from the Three J's - Jack, Jason & Jonah. |
Friends and guests swelled our ranks yesterday at our First Sunday Service. Pastor Hansel engaged several attendees at the recently concluded Jesus Culture Convention to give their testimonies about their various experiences while attending the Jesus Culture sessions in Nokia Theater, Los Angeles, this past weekend.
The cousins Jack Charles, Jason and Jonah Alano, who Pastor Hansel referred to as the three "warriors," each gave a glimmer of their experience "soaking" in the Holy Spirit . Several young people from a Methodist church in Vallejo, CA also shared their testimony, not aware initially what the Jesus Culture convention was truly like, but who became excited as they saw and later performed healing miracles in the name of Jesus.

Going through the "Fire Tunnel." |
"Treasure hunters" Shelby, Denise and Andrea gave an exciting account of their experience with healing someone while they themselves were at first hesitant in the practical application of what they had learned so far at the conference. Similarly, Junior Cabrera, Tia Jones, Laurice Orense, Vim Santos, Ashley, Chelsea, Rebecca and Chris Miranda shared their experiences excitedly and passionately, some in reference to healing, others in breakthroughs relative to speaking in tongues or receiving the gift of their spiritual language.
Each one spoke of the unique ways they witnessed to people on the streets, or to pray for them or to give their testimony to others.
Had there been enough time, the thirtysome attendees at the conference would have all loved to talk about what they learned and experienced from their attendance at the Jesus Culture conference.
Some of the youth from Vallejo sang the song, "Your Love is Everything," a capella, to the appreciation and blessing of the Gospel Life congregation.
The communion service, always a highlight of our First Sunday service, was participated in by all who were in the sanctuary. Afterwards, the prayer team, the students and graduates of the Lion's Den School, and others continued their ministry as instruments of the Holy Spirit in prayers for healing, or for any other challenges that those who asked for prayers brought forward.
This continued for another hour or so as the presence of the Holy Spirit was clearly manifested in the sanctuary. Much later, two rows of those who were still in the church (while others were already at the fellowship hall for lunch) formed as individuals walked between them in a formation called the "fire tunnel" where one was "soaked" in the Holy Spirit as he or she passed through this tunnel.
We must thank the hosts, Irma and Medy Alcaraz, and Janet and Terry Jones, who accomodated the thirty-some participants in the conference by offering their homes and their hospitality, the Alcarazes for the boys and the Joneses for the girls, to retreat to at night to sleep, eat, and also to recount their stories to each other as they bonded together. Thanks, too, to those who drove their cars to transport all of them so they could save on the parking fees at the convention area. |

Ministry of Grace Corner
In this ministry, God provides what He wants us to share with others. So we are to give proportionately, according to how much He has given us.
2 Corinthians 8:12-14 CEV - It doesn't matter how much you have. What matters is how much you are willing to give from what you have. I am not trying to make life easier for others by making life harder for you. But it is only fair for you to share with them when you have so much, and they have so little. Later , when they have more than enough, and you are in need, they can share with you. Then everyone will have a fair share." |

Your Testimony
"I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony." - John 3:11
Over the last several years I have seen two distinct types of Christian workplace believers. One type enthusiastically teaches their Bible knowledge to others. These people, though they may be genuine in their motive, lack one essential ingredient to being effectively used by God - a testimony.
The second type of people I have encountered has a genuine testimony of what God is doing and continues to do in their lives. This was the case in the early Church. Men and women were able to give powerful testimony of events and experiences that could only be explained as a work of God.
God desires to build a testimony in each of us. Each of us is one of God's chosen vessels to reflect His power in and through us. When others see this power reflected, they are impacted because they cannot explain that power. God desires to frame your life with experiences designed to reflect the character and nature of Christ. Sometimes these events can be very devastating, but they are designed to reveal His power in and through us.
Every one of us has a testimony. What would others say your testimony is today? Can others see God's work in your life? Is your testimony one of Bible knowledge only? Are things happening in your life that can only be explained as God? These can be problematic questions for each of us. Ask God to build a testimony of His life in and through you today.

Dear God, I want to thank you for being such a loving father. You know the challenges of parenting. You know the needs of children. Thank You for helping every parent have the right balance of love and discipline.
Thank You for giving me wisdom in parenting skills and problem-solving. While every child needs love, each one needs correction to fit them and their offenses, according to their actions, their unique personalities, and their ages.
Thank You for biblical values and guidance in each parent's heart, mind, and spirit. I pray an extra special touch for single parents who must parent alone. They have their own unique battles to face. Thank you for hearing my prayer on behalf of parents everywhere. And thank you for being such a great father. In Jesus' name, amen. |
