Off to a good start

Pastor Hansel reports that this summer session for the Lion's Den School is off to a good start.

There are some who have expressed an interest in joining the class as it starts its second week today, and they can still join and catch up, but probably not if they join next week.

The guest faculty will be teaching certain selected parts of the curriculum as scheduled. The home church faculty will be teaching most of the classes.

"Buffet China"

The next monthly fund-raising fellowship dinner comes up next Tuesday, June 19 at 7:00 p.m., at the Buffet China restaurant in Covina.  It is located on 870 E. Arrow Highway at the southwest corner of N. Grand Avenue.

Early birds can actually start at 6:30 p.m. Please invite your family members, friends and your entire bible study group to come and join the fun.

Fifty per cent of what you pay for dinner goes back to Gospel Life's various projects.  Johnny Chua submits a detailed accounting of all money received, disbursed and credited to your church giving so you can get a tax deduction at year's end.

It's on Sunday!

June 17 is Father's Day. Are you ready to celebrate and honor the fathers in your family? Don't forget that your brothers, uncles, male cousins and others may also be fathers.

The fathers in Gospel Life will be recognized on Sunday, as we do each year.  There will also be a tribute for them.

Fathers, always remember that children look up to you in many ways, even when you don't think they're looking.

Donors Needed

What is the TLC Fund?  It is the "Tender, Loving Care" Fund that Gospel Life sets aside for needy people who may come by or call in to request temporary, usually one-time help for food, personal needs, lodging for the night or whatever other emergencies our less fortunate fellowmen might be faced with.

It is funded by specific donations made for that purpose by individuals like you who care.  The fund is currently depleted and we ask for Spirit-motivated members of our congregation to respond to this need.

Please mark your checks and/or offering envelopes "TLC Fund."

Wanted: Dead or Alive!

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" (Eph 6:12).

In the old west it was common to see a poster on the wall of the town jail or post office with a man's picture below the words: Wanted: Dead or Alive! These were the most notorious criminals who posed the greatest danger to society.

Let me ask you a personal question. Is there a "Wanted: Dead or Alive" poster in hell with your name on it? Are you a real danger to hell? Do you cause problems for Satan's legion of demons? Are you pushing back Satan's agenda on planet earth?

Are the unsaved in danger of receiving salvation through you? Will someone receive healing because you dared to pray for them? Will someone's life be impacted because you chose to pray for them in your workplace during a difficult time? Will a city be impacted for Jesus Christ because of you?

Millions of believers sit on the sidelines everyday having no impact on the Kingdom of darkness. Their names will never appear on a Wanted poster in hell because Satan sees that they are no threat. However, God wants you to be a threat to Satan's kingdom.

What are some things you can do that will pose a threat to Satan's agenda? Perhaps you can begin praying for one of Satan's most notorious talk show personalities. Or maybe you are called to visit an elderly home to bring the love of Christ into a lonely place. There are many ways you can earn a reputation in hell.

Are you willing to be a force to be reckoned with by Satan's legions?
