NEWSLETTER       Wednesday Edition        May 30, 2012
__________
Greetings!

It seems too quick that the month of May is almost over and we're headed into the year's halfway mark!  Time does fly. Are we keeping up?

There are loads of things to do at work, and even more to do at home, it seems. Does what we need to do for our spiritual well-being take a back seat to all the mundane things we need to accomplish?

It's just a thought to consider, because in the "busyness" of our daily schedules there is always that tendency to perhaps neglect what we really do not intend to, and that's cultivating a closer walk with Jesus, becoming more intimate with Him.

Let His presence take the primary importance in your life and mine on an on-going basis.

ROARING LIKE A LION

Good News Hour:  Pastor Joannie

The topic of Pastor Joannie's message on Sunday was apropos to the upcoming summer classes of the Lion's Den School of the Supernatural. She reminded us of the banner displayed at the church's foyer which declares that "the Lion of the tribe of Judah has won the victory." REV. 5:5

Lions are the symbol of confident strength and power. They can seek out, search and hunt  just as well if not better in the dark.  It's roar changes the atmosphere, she said.  Comparison was made of its roar with the way our posture is changed, how it has a far-reaching impact, proclaiming and protecting territory, calling the lost and protecting and empowering the next generation.

Her challenge is that it falls on us to give the lion's roar, and that ultimately, we can only do this when Jesus lives within us.

An Eternal View of Circumstances

"Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel." - Philippians 1:12

Are your life circumstances advancing the gospel? Can you see the Lord's hand in your life in such a way that all of your life experiences, joys, sorrows, hardships, and training have resulted in advancing the gospel?

Paul was a tentmaker by trade. But he had an overall ministry objective in his business life. That objective left him imprisoned and persecuted at times. But Paul saw these events not as roadblocks to his mission. Rather, they were catalysts to advancing the cause of Christ. Paul's revelation of this kept him from despairing about his circumstances.

One day a little-known pastor who lived in the small African nation of Benin began to pray for his Marxist president. For two years he prayed. Then the Lord told the pastor to go to meet this president and share the gospel with him. The president rejected the gospel, but after another such occasion, the president accepted the gospel and became a Christian. He was removed from power but was discipled by this pastor.

Sometime later this same president was elected again. Today that president is now a Christian leader of a nation committed to spreading the gospel throughout his nation. One man - yet millions have been affected by his obedience. This modern-day story is retold in countless lives of those willing to live for a cause greater than themselves.

Are your work and life experiences serving to advance the gospel? What experiences has God allowed in your life that are part of His plan to advance the gospel? Ask Him to help you see your life the way He sees it. Seeing our life the way God sees it will help us avoid discouragement in those times when life appears to be a mystery to us.

Meditation

Dear God, it is You who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. Thank You for making my feet like the feet of a deer; enabling me to stand on the heights. Thank You for training my hands for daily obstacles, battles, and spiritual hurdles that I know You have already won for me. Thank You for giving me Your shield of victory!

Thank You for broadening the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn (based on 2 Samuel 22:33-37). I praise and worship You, Almighty God. I trust You to work in me to keep my feet on solid ground and to help me be a witness of Your saving grace to my family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors.

All glory and honor be unto You, in Jesus' name, amen.
