Greetings!
This month of April we will continue to read and hear about "intimacy with God" as the topic of our Good News Hour messages. As we become more engaged in this dimension of our lives, how do we rate ourselves?
Do we see that we have become closer to our Lord, Redeemer and Friend? Or, don't we experience this change in us?
Perhaps the most important thing we can do at all times is to lift Jesus Christ in every aspect of our lives. John 12:32 says, "If I am lifted up above the earth, I will make everyone want to come to me." (CEV) What better way do we have to become more intimate with Him than to constantly lift Him up in the way we talk, behave, dress or deal with our fellow men and women? Let's allow God's presence in our daily business, whether at home or at work, both in our secular and spiritual endeavors, and for sure this will promote an abiding sense of intimacy with Him. "Into-Him-You-See" In his message yesterday at the Good News Hour, Pastor L J gave us additional pointers in cultivating an intimate relationship with God. He mentioned examples of intimacy developed between members of athletic teams, for example, which contributes to the over-all efficiency of such teams. King David of the Old Testament, the "man after God's own heart, was also cited as an example of one who developed such an intimate fellowship with God.
Our New Testament example in the person of Jesus Christ, whose intimate relationship with the Father is portrayed in many biblical verses, is our primary model, and by "abiding in Him and Him in us" our intimacy with God is developed, and by so doing we bear fruit, we have peace and we have full, remaining joy.
He then explained the sermon title, "Into-Him-You-See" as the outcome of our "in-ti-ma-cy" with God.

Ademir, Kay, Norma and her visitor, Pete and Florence enjoy their meal in one of these dinners. |
Thai BBQ & Restaurant Our monthly fellowship dinner happens tomorrow, Tuesday, April 17, at 7 p.m.
Those who did not make reservations with Johnny Chua can still do so by calling him (909-228-2162). Otherwise just go to the restaurant early enough to join us and give Johnny your fee for the event.
The youth group can join and have the proceeds from their group go to the youth fund or for whatever purpose or project they may have to help augment their own fund-raising efforts.
The restaurant's location is in the bannerhead at the top of this newsletter. |
Men's Breakfast Meeting We have confirmed the presence of a guest speaker at our next Men's Breakfast Meeting to be held on Saturday, May 12, 8:30 a.m. at the Fellowship Hall.
Mr. George Rivera, owner and CEO of a local industry, Total Resources International, will speak about his journey as a Christian businessman.
Let's show our full support by planning to attend. It's probably difficult to be up early on a Saturday morning, but let our men muster the desire and the will to be there! |
Seminars Ahead Preparations for the Jesus Seminars continue at full speed as mailers are readied for mailing to our local community. Approximately 3500 households will receive our invitation for the evangelistic seminars which will begin on May 4th.
Pastor Tony Luciano announced yesterday that aids to help jog your memory as to who you should be inviting to the seminars will be emailed to you this week. If you do not have email, you can obtain copies of these tools at the church foyer.
Besides the invitations by mail, you will be asked to volunteer, along with the church staff, to distribute these invitations in the local neighborhoods as a follow-up to the ones that are received in their postal mail. This will take place on the last Sunday afternoon of this month, April 29th. Volunteers will be given a street map of the area in which they will leave invitation flyers at the door of each house.
Let's continue to pray for the meetings and for those who will attend these seminars. Pastors John and Jessie are returning from the Philippines shortly before the seminars begin. He will be the speaker at these meetings.

Resolving the Ownership Issue
"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters." - Psalm 24:1-2
As Christian workplace believers, God calls us to view Him as the owner of everything. We are to be stewards of all that He entrusts to us. This is one of the hardest of all commandments to follow for the Christian workplace believer because, if we work hard at business, we receive all the benefits of that work. It appears as though all that we have achieved was through our hand. Yet God says that it is by His hand that we are able to make wealth (see Deut. 8). He is the source of that ability. As soon as we become owners and not managers, we fall into trouble with God.
Joseph understood that he was a steward of all the resources of Egypt. God promoted him to affect an entire region of the world. Joseph had more power, prestige, and wealth than any 30-year-old who ever lived before him. The temptation for him in this newfound role in life must have been great. Many a man has not been able to handle material success. Many of God's choicest servants began well in their calling and service to God only to fail at the end. Consider Hezekiah, the great king who achieved many great things but failed to acknowledge God's blessing at the end of his reign. His reign was cut short due to pride. Gideon's fate was similar. Success can lead to pride if we are not careful.
"Not every man can carry a full cup. Sudden elevation frequently leads to pride and a fall. The most exacting test of all to survive is prosperity" [Oswald Chambers].
Ask the Lord today if you are living as a steward or an owner. Put whatever skills and resources you possess on His altar. Then you can expect God to do great things through you.

Our Father, thank You for a new day. I know that everything I am and everything I have is a result of what You have allowed in my life. Sometimes life is very hard; other times it is full of happiness. I know you are always there and your blessings are available if only I will listen and obey.
Thank You for helping me to recognize the gifts you send and the doors You open each and every day. Grant me wisdom to see and do Your will.
Thank You for the spiritual gifts You have given, also. Thank You for using those gifts to work in and through me to minister to the world and draw people to you. In Jesus' name I pray and give you praise. Amen. |
