 Wednesday Edition
Greetings!

Have you ever experienced being away from your family as a child? Or as a spouse from one another? Sometimes circumstances are such that separation for short or even longer periods becomes necessary.

How does it feel to be separated, or even rejected? We try to avoid these occasions because we feel like something is missing.  Now, how would separation from God feel like?

It's got to be worse than being away from your family or spouse when you have been used to being together most of the time.

In a fallen world we cannot escape this.  But thank God, we are assured eternal life with Him when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  We will no longer suffer from "separation anxiety" when the assurance of salvation is ours.

Salvation is available to all who believe and receive this remarkable gift.  John 3:16 describes how reconciliation puts an end to that separation: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

FEBRUARY 5, FIRST SUNDAY

Next Sunday is First Sunday. As usual we do not have the regular Good News Hour at 11a.m.  This time is reserved for our congregants to actively share their testimonies and experiences, to sing songs or play an instrument, to do an interpretative worship dance, etc.

If you wish to go up front for any of these activities, kindly talk to Pastor Hansel so you can be placed on the line-up of participants.

We will also have a Communion Service on Sunday.

Group 1 will be in charge of the Fellowship Lunch.
GET READY FOR THE LION'S DEN SCHOOL

It is about 5 months away but the Lion's Den School summer session will begin in June.  It will run for about 11 weekends through the end of August.

Many of you have had a taste of it this past weekend and many have expressed a desire to join the summer classes.  Please prepare for it and pray about it.  God will bless this effort.  Become an effective tool for the work of God by being equipped to carry your witness to your homes, to your neighborhood and to your communities.
WE NEED YOUR OPINION

Our monthly dinner fellowship is becoming an event we look forward to.  Let us know what you would prefer:  to hold our February dinner on Tuesday, February 14, which is Valentine's Day or have a distinct and separate  fund-raising dinner the following week, which is Tuesday, February 21, so you can have your own Valentine's Day celebration.

In the meantime, please start making your reservations with Johnny Chua (909-228-2162) for February's dinner fellowship.
MARKETPLACE MINISTY
 The God of Time

For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a man's misery weighs heavily upon him (Eccl 8:6).

How we use our time is a good indicator of the god we choose to serve. There is a god whose name is "the urgent" that can rule our lives if we are not diligent. The wrong use of time can lead to misery. The right use of time can result in fulfillment.

"You need to take time to turn to God. Do not pray only when you have set aside time to do. The busier you are, the more you must practice turning to God. If you wait until the time is convenient, there is little doubt that you will end up spending little time with God. Try to come before God both in the morning and the evening. Pray during and between all your other jobs as much as you can. You cannot retire too much from the mindless chatter of the world. Learn to steal this time in little snatches, and you will find these moments the most precious part of your day" said Francois de Fenelon, a sixteenth century Christian leader.*

The amount of time we spend with anyone or any activity is a good indicator of the value we place on that person or activity. Time equates to money for some. For others it can be a cruel dictator. It is the physical evidence of what is at the center of our lives.

People can generally make time for what they choose to do; it is not really the lack of available time, but the will to set a priority for the time they have. Time can be the evidence that convicts our soul that our devotion has waned.

What does the evidence of time tell you about yourself? Today, give God the time needed to develop a relationship that is meaningful for both of you.

MEDITATION

"Dear God, things that taste bitter do not taste good. Likewise, a soul that is bitter, does not feel good. Thank You for helping  me to not become bitter over people who have hurt me.

"I pray for these people and I thank You for giving them what would help them to realize what they have done, and giving them the desire and courage to make things right. Thank You for putting the desire and courage in me to forgive and put the past behind; to live every day as a new day, being thankful for new beginnings.

"Thank you God, for giving me a new beginning. In Jesus name I pray and give you thanks. Amen."
