WHAT'S
Greetings!

One marvels at the way a caterpillar morphs into a graceful butterfly.  There you have a crawling, slimy, and spiky worm which disappears into a chrysalis spun from its own body, and soon you see a beautiful winged butterfly emerge magnificently.

The change we undergo at the moment of salvation, when we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, is even more radical and miraculous!  From being death-bound and depraved human beings, we are made into brand new creatures, forgiven, made righteous and fit to be a dwelling place where He Himself takes residence.
(2 CORINTHIANS 5:21; JOHN 14:17)

Salvation is a one-time event. God sees us as righteous from that point forward.  However, the Holy Spirit resides within us to empower us to become more and more like Jesus.  Thankfully, He brings about a change in our behavior and in our thoughts.

To Benefit Muslim School Children

Our monthly fund-raising dinner fellowship is just a day away.  Tomorrow evening, we meet at the Capital Restaurant, the same place we went to last month. Perhaps the appetizer, soup, twelve-course dinner and dessert are difficult to turn away from?

The proceeds of tomorrow's dinner will help rebuild a school in Iligan city devastated by the recent typhoon and flooding in the southern Philippines.  It is for the Muslim children in the area.

Bring other family members, friends and neighbors with you.  Invite members of your bible study group.  Call Johnny Chua (909-228-2162) to make your reservation.

The Lion's Den Weekend

There is a ground swell of participants registered for the Lion's Den Weekend Mini-Conference beginning on Friday, January 27, at 7 p.m.  Approximately 35 are registered so far, not counting previous graduates of the Lion's Den Summer School who will be helping the staff.

Dustin and Savannah Box from Vallejo, CA, and Keith and Heather Ferrante with some 2nd Year Deeper Students from the Mission at Vacaville, CA, will serve as guest faculty.

The mini-conference will be a sample of what goes on at the Lion's Den Summer School of the Supernatural, a ten-weekend course offered in the summer months. It is hoped that more will enroll for the summer course as a result of attending this mini-conference.

Registration is still going on.  The fee is $50.

(Note:  The usual Sunday Fellowship Lunch after the church service  will not be served next Sunday, January 29th. Be prepared to get your food from the Food Trucks.  They will be donating funds for the Lion's Den School.)
FOCUSED ON GOD
Dijamco Family
     Pastor LJ Dijamco

Part of your New Year's Resolution?

Pastor LJ Dijamco's message during the Good News Hour yesterday followed another inspirational Praise and Worship service.

"We are susceptible to anxiety and fear," he said, "when God isn't the center of focus."  He spoke about new year's resolutions at the beginning of his message as being perhaps quickly broken or inconsistently fulfilled when there are conflicting or even multiple purposes for those resolutions instead of being more focused on a certain resolve.

He further laid out God's plan for His children to live a high quality of life and that this, in turn, will be increased when we make God the center of focus .
MARKETPLACE MINISTRY

It's important for church people not to confine themselves within the church campus.  Rather, they are to bring the church to the marketplace, out there where those who do not know God are.

We are to share God's love with others, and to bless them as He blesses us.

"In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." MATTHEW 5:16 NLT

God's Timing

"Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning: 'See that you don't tell this to anyone'" (Mark 1:42-45).

"Have you ever had a problem keeping a secret? Especially if that secret involves good news? I have certain friends who can't keep a secret like this. They are sure to blurt it out to the wrong person at the wrong time.

"There is a timing that is ideal for releasing information or moving forward with a project. Jesus understood the importance of timing. When He performed His first healing miracle He instructed the man he healed with leprosy to not tell anyone. Now that would be difficult - not to share being healed from leprosy with your friends who have known you and your condition. He could not keep the secret.

"As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere. Jesus desired to do more things in that city, but because the man could not keep quiet, He could not do so.

"How often has Jesus not been able to move in your situation because you have failed to honor the right timing of the situation? Perhaps you have moved ahead when you were not supposed to move.

"In the Old Testament, David was fighting the Philistines. He won the first battle, but they were coming against him again. He inquired of God and God said, "Go to battle, but not until you hear the marching in the balsam trees" (2 Sam. 5:23). There was a strategic timing associated with his actions.

"Early in my writing career I wrote a book before I should have. I was called to write it, but my enthusiasm kept me from releasing it in the right timing. The premature release resulted in not having a complete understanding of the topic that I would gain later, had I waited on His timing for release.

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven." ( Eccl 3:1). Ask God for His timing in your projects to be released."

MEDITATION

"Dear God, so many needs have come before me today. So many people are standing in the need of prayer.

"Thank You for intervening, healing, comforting, providing; having mercy upon all those who are sick, sick and tired of being sick and tired, unemployed, heartbroken, in bondage to addiction of any kind, tormented by emotional problems or mental illness, lonely, just up out of the pit of sin, and now, walking in the light; in need of courage and strength, grieving, traveling, moving, going through changes, needing direction and wisdom, and so much more.

"Thank You, God, for your tender mercies, your everlasting love, your everpresence, and for hearing the cries of my heart. Thank You for using  me to help others, to remain faithful, to make the right decisions and to do the right things.

"Let me bring honor and glory to You. In the name of Jesus I pray, amen."
