| Greetings! | |
Do you sometimes feel insignificant, or that what you do doesn't matter or make a difference?
We live in a world where bigger and better many times define our expectations for much of the life that is ahead of us. We are so surrounded by super stars, super sizes, high definition, etc. which in turn magnify our view of things that we tend not to notice smaller, less significant things.
And yet God reminds us that there are many biblical examples of beginnings with small things and inadequate people, and that's who we are. He transforms us when our lives are surrendered within the confines of His will.
There is nothing better than to rest securely in the loving arms of our Savior who redeemed us from certain death and gave us eternal life!

| LET US KNOW | |
There are many things going on among our small groups, the various church ministries, the childrens' departments and even among individual church members that are newsworthy for publication in this newsletter of ours.
Please do not hesitate to send us your news items, activities planned or recently held, uplifting personal or family anecdotes or experiences and any other happening or event that may be of interest to our readership. Let's not keep these things to ourselves.
If you have pictures taken related to your news item, please fell free to send them in, or bring them in the next time our church doors open, and give them to one of our church staff. Thanks for sharing! |

| MARKETPLACE MINISTRY | Presuming Upon the Future
"The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender"
(Prov 22:7).
.
"Do you think I should pay off my mortgage?" I said to the investment counselor.
"Oh, absolutely not; you can use that money to invest and make more than what you are paying in mortgage interest. Plus, you will get an interest deduction from your mortgage."
This was the counsel I got from a Christian investment counselor years ago when I had the chance to pay off all my debts - including my home mortgage. I chose to follow his advice and lived to regret it.
It was not long after that I was thrust into a seven year adversity that took all the financial assets I had available that could have paid that mortgage. Through a series of unusual circumstances that money was gone.
The world's wisdom presumes upon the future. Debt is one of those instruments that has the ability to make one a servant to it. I don't believe the Bible speaks totally against debt, but gives a strong warning that debt can be an evil taskmaster and if you choose to use it we need to know the consequences.
After that experience I decided to commit myself to becoming debt free. And, if I ever had the opportunity to pay off my mortgage again, I would do it. The time came again for this opportunity several years later. The same financial counsel was given to me, but I chose to disregard it and pay off my mortgage.
Now, many years later I can tell you I am a free man. I am no longer servant to the lender. God is free to move my life in greater ways because of my lack of bondage to debt. And I am free to sow more into God's Kingdom.
Ask God to bring you into the Promised Land of debt-free living. You will find a peace that surpasses all understanding.

| MEDITATION |
| |
"Dear God, Is my testimony what it should be? What would others say about my testimony for You? Can others see Your work in my life? Thank You for no longer looking at my failures.
"Thank You, Lord, that although I disappoint you many, many times for not spending as much time as I should on helping others and sharing what I have, You still work on me to build a testimony of Your life in and through me today.
"I praise You and thank You in the name of Jesus. Amen." |
