GLOBAL OUTREACH OF GOSPEL LIFE
(GOGL)  REPORT
November 19, 2011
Greetings!

From time to time we bring you periodic reports from the Global Outreach of Gospel Life.  Senior Pastors John and Jessie Tulio have just returned from their missionary trip to the Philippines lasting almost two months.

We thank the Lord for His traveling mercies, for His direction and leading, and for prospering the work of spreading the Good News both at home and abroad.

FIVE CHURCHES IN PALAWAN

PHL MEMBERSHIP GOES PAST 1000

Joyful and grateful are Senior Pastors John and Jessie Tulio as they returned from almost two months' stay in the Philippines.  No, they didn't just "stay" there.  They traveled to several areas to help encourage, nurture, and teach the leaders of Gospel Life's churches in the Philippines and spread God's good news of salvation to those who would listen.

Thirty four people were baptized last week in Palawan, bringing to a total of 326 the number of Gospel Life members in the five church groups that have been established there.  Of this number, 121 were baptized in 2011.

In the island of Palawan, three church groups are in the Puerto Princesa area with a total of 227 members, one in the town of Roxas with 44 members,  and another one in San Vicente with 55 members.  Several "Basic 10" Bible study groups are going on, and at least a couple of members there are conducting several study groups all at once.

Basic 10 is the primary study guide that Gospel Life uses to teach others what the core of our beliefs are.  Several churches who joined Gospel Life indicated that these beliefs are what they have been searching for.

There are now eight churches in Davao, another church is being constructed in Cebu and the church in Guimba, Nueva Ecija is looking for a larger place in which to meet.  Preferably, they are looking for a piece of property in which to build their church.
This brings to fifteen the total number of Gospel Life churches in the Philippines with over 1000 members.
TYPHOON AFFECTS GUIMBA CHURCH MEMBERS
Members  thankful for help sent from Walnut

At the time Pastors John and Jessie arrived in the Philippines in October, a couple of typhoons were passing through.  Members from the Guimba Gospel Life Church in Nueva Ecija were affected by the typhoon, and help sent to them from what was collected at the Walnut church was very much appreciated.

It is of note that none of the local leaders in the Gospel Life churches in the Philippines receive any monetary compensation from Gospel Life (U.S.)  They have other means of livelihood or they have learned certain trades to become sources of income for them.

An example is the sewing business that has evolved among several members of the church in Palawan, thanks to your donations of sewing machines in the past.  It has become a source of income for the members there.  A rather sizable vegetable garden has a large enough harvest to bring the produce to the local markets.
NETWORKING CONTINUES
Several opportunities came about while there

There were several opportunities to renew and reaffirm networks that have been initiated in the past.  There were meetings with Pastor Mark Crawford, head of the group from Australia who works with a church in Bacolod City, and with Pastor Dave Crone, senior leader from the Mission in Vacaville.

Pastor Jon J Tulio, who heads the Nothing To Lose Foundation (which is closely linked to Gospel Life Community), and his family are currently based in Bacolod City from where he gets to contact schools and students from locally and from other areas of the country to hold basketball clinics, medical missions and other activiti.es among the young people  to help  promote leadership skills in a manner that will make them instruments of transforming the society to which they  belong.

GROUP IN METROMANILA
There is a group of believers in the MetroManila area who is currently receiving Basic 10 Bible studies.  They are mostly from the True Vine Ministry led by a dynamic leader who may come and visit Gospel Life Walnut sometime in December.

SPECIAL THANKS

A special note of thanks to Paul and Dollie Sy who have selflessly supported the work in Palawan and to Pastors Prom and Norma Amoguis who have continued to labor among the locals not only in Palawan but in many other areas of the Philippines.

The Amoguises  never dreamed of living in Palawan, but look where God brought them! A retired couple who could be taking it easy with their children and grandchildren in Tennessee and Georgia, are doing what the Lord has bid them to do under less than ideal conditions in rural Philippines.

REGARDING DONATIONS OF CLOTHES, ETC.

We thank all those who have been donating new and used clothing and even small gadgets for our members in the Philippines who are happy to receive and use these items.

A special appeal is for childrens' clothing.  These can truly make a difference for the families with young sons and daughters who may have barely a few pieces of clothing to their name. So bring them in when you can.  They will be packaged and sent in large boxes to the Philippines.
