Wednesday Edition

Greetings!

Lessons are part of our growth as Christians.  Whereas, classroom education may come to an end, we continue to learn vital spiritual lessons that affect our character development, our choices and ultimately our lifestyle. These, in turn, reach beyond our earthly lifetimes all the way into eternity.

One of the lessons we learn, sometimes with difficulty, is to wait upon the Lord.  To wait on Him means to remain in your present circumstances or environment until He gives further instruction. This doesn't mean waiting in passivity: it calls for an active choice to be at rest, trusting in God and His timing, an internal stillness of spirit resulting from putting our complete faith and trust in Him.

Undertanding this can help us become confident in His wisdom and in His will.

COMBINED ANNIVERSARY & THANKSGIVING
Tulios and Ongs

Remember, this is what you voted on at the Core Group Meeting on Sunday. This coming Tuesday, November 15, at 7:00 p.m. is our monthly Fund Raising Dinner and it is also the Joint Celebration of our Church Anniversary and of Thanksgiving  as a church group.

The Core Group decided to do this so as not to crowd in a bunch of activities on the following week, which is the Thanksgiving week.  Besides your own family celebrations on Thanksgiving Thursday, there will be a Thanksgiving Eve service at the church, that's on the Wednesday evening before thanksgiving day.

Please do not forget to give your reservations to Johnny Chua, by email at johnchua@earthlink.net  or by phone at 909-228-2162.  Or you can let him know at church on Sunday at the latest.  A large turnout is expected.  We may have to use the larger room at the Asia Buffet at the corner of Gale Ave. and Fullerton St. in the City of Industry.
SPECIAL OFFERING
Treasure Chest
The "Treasure Chest"
You have heard the stories about the miraculous ways God showed His hand in the acquisition of Gospel Life on Miracle Hill.  And now we are in the midst of our "Million Miracles" campaign.

We thank the Lord because He has always come through for us in the past and at present.  We know He will continue to do so. All gifts deposited in the "treasure chest" sitting against the back wall of the sanctuary will go towards our "Million Miracles" Fund, the fund that will go towards retiring Gospel Life's mortgage note, although we anticipate another miracle in the offing!
DEVOTIONAL

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

You may be facing a dead end right now-financial, emotional, relational-but if you will trust God and keep on moving in faith, even when you don't see a way, he will make a way.

It will become more understandable as you head down the path he sets before you, but understanding is not a requirement for you to start down the path. Proverbs 4:18 says, "The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining brighter till the full light of day." (NIV)

One day you will stand in the full light of eternity and view the big picture. You'll see God's purpose behind the path he specifically chose for you.

In the meantime, do what Proverbs 3 tells us to do: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

Be patient. God knows what He's doing. God knows what is best for you. He can see the end result. You can't. All those problems, heartaches, difficulties and delays -- all the things that make you ask "why" -- one day it will all be clear in the light of God's love.

But for now, we're learning to trust God.

"To lay down our excuses is the wisest thing we can do to serve our Lord.  Let's trust that he will empower us to do whatever He calls us to do.  He will see to it that we are properly equipped and trained. (Ephesians 2:10; 2 Timothy 2:20; 3:16-17). All He asks of us is that we say "Yes!"
