A Reminder
Greetings!

We just want to encourage you today.  The Lord is mighty! You may just find yourself in an unexpected set of circumstances.  It isn't rocket science or anything like that, but praying and trusting the Lord for you to walk through the door that He opens can find you in places you never expected to be, with friends you never expected to have.

And you take whatever is there for you without fear, because He will use that and you will use it to His glory. Sometimes you end up in struggling places where you don't want to be in the first place, and yet it turns out those are the places where you need to be.

Fear steals your joy, your peace and ultimately your health.  Millions of Christians worldwide take anti-anxiety medications and anti-depressants to cope with their fears. Fear is an enemy of the believer.  It can sabotage your faith in God. In the present unstable economy and rising unemployment, fear runs rampant, but God tells us to trust Him.

If you have lost your peace and joy because of fear, you can recapture your trust in God and learn to break free by believing His word.

"Where God's love is, there is no fear, because God's perfect love drives out fear. It is punishment that makes a person fear, so love is not made perfect in the person who fears."
1 John 4:18 NCV

GOOD ATTENDANCE AT DINNER
Fifty in Fellowship
Despite the 7:00 p.m. start time, most everyone came to the Asia Buffet about a half hour later, the usual time these dinners started in the past. Everyone had a good time. Food was plentiful, and several said, "better" than at a previous venue.

Some guests came and a couple of local political candidates stopped by and even sat with us to eat. Families new to our church joined us, too, and we were all blessed.

Fifty-one adults and children were present, and there was not a single dull moment till we broke up at around 9:45 p.m.

Prepare for the November fund raiser.  It will be a combined Church Anniversary and Thanksgiving celebration!
GOD IS ABLE
He Wants to Prosper His People

In the Gospel Life pamphlet on Christian Principles of Resource Management and Investment, the very first section deals with God's ability and desire to prosper us.  The following texts are supportive of this statement.

"Who are those who fear the Lord?  He will show them the path they should choose.  They will live in prosperity, and their children will inherit the Promised Land." Psalm 25:12-13 NLT

"I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.  With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity...bestowing wealth on those who love me and making their treasuries full." Proverbs 8:17,18,20 NIV

"Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desi.res of your heart." Psalm 37:4 NIV

Let these words strengthen our faith in Jesus, our Sustainer.

DEVOTIONAL
A Lifestyle of Grace

In repentance we simply respond to God's grace of his kingdom drawing near to us. Without this grace we would be lost eternally. In many of the parables of Jesus about the kingdom we see so many pictures of God's grace. In Matt 21:31 the tax collectors, harlots and sinners enter into the kingdom before the "holy" Pharisees.

Jesus repeatedly stated in the Kingdom of God that the first would be last and the last first.

In Matt 19:23-24 the rich who are first in this world will be the last to enter the Kingdom whereas the poor in Luke 6:20 are the beneficiaries of the kingdom.

In Mark 2:17 we are told that Jesus came to call sinners and not the righteous. The Pharisees continually complained when Jesus ate with sinners and Jesus responded by telling the parables of the lost sheep, coin and the lost son.

The kingdom of God is about grace and not merit. Without God's grace none of us could enter the kingdom of God. Each morning we need to ask for and give thanks for this grace.

We enjoy kingdom blessings each day because of God's grace in our lives.      --from gereja oikos perth 4/30/11

MEDITATION

"Dear God, I may not have excellent speech or be as educated or wise as some people, but this one thing I know: that Jesus Christ gave Himself as a sacrifice for my sin and has risen to sit at Your right hand, so that I may receive Your forgiveness, a new life, and eternal life with You.

"Though I may be weak and fearful at times, I can be strong through the power of Your Spirit. God, I thank You that You can speak through me and live through me that I might touch the lives and hearts of the people I come in contact with each day. May You be glorified. In Jesus' name, amen."
