In Essential Beliefs, We Have Unity
Greetings!

Gospel Life Community - Church Without Walls - a name that brings forth a knowledge that we are a church open to people of all creeds, races and backgrounds, is just that, a "church without walls."

We are a church for all nations who love each other and our community with an object of changing people's lives for eternity.  So our Vision Statement says.

In the midst of our diversity, we are held together by our statement of faith that the Bible is the only source of our authority, that sinners are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, and based on the finished work of Christ alone.

These are a part of our "core beliefs" and in these essential beliefs we have unity.  However, in less essential beliefs, we have liberty, and in all other beliefs we have charity.

Our prayer is that not one of you will ever be shaken from our essential beliefs, but that if someone has another opinion on something that is not part of our core beliefs, or on something that has nothing to do with our salvation, we can be respecting or tolerant of whatever that view or opinion is.  It is not worth destroying any bridge of relationship that we may have been building.

God's blessings be upon each of us as we continue to study and learn precious truths that were previously foreign to us. The psalmist David says that God's word is a lamp and a light to our pathways.  May we always be willing to digest the knowledge of more truth as that light comes into our lives.

DESTINY-DRIVEN LIFE

Second in the Series on Sunday

JoannaAlano
Pastor Joannie Alano continues her sermon series on the Destiny Driven Life this coming Sunday and next.

Last Sunday, she spoke about a desire that God created in us to have a glorious destiny (as opposed to fate) and that He, indeed, has a glorious destiny for all who believe in Jesus Christ.

Knowing our destiny shapes how we live our lives, assured by the overwhelming victory we have through Christ, she pointed out.

See you all on Sunday!

FUND RAISER? DINNER? FELLOWSHIP?

 A Three-in-One Event

Group At FRD

The next Fund-Raising Dinner is on Tuesday, October 25.  Johnny Chua is making arrangements for this dinner that not only helps to raise funds for specific purposes but also promotes fellowship and better relationships within our church group.

It is about two weeks away so please call Johnny at (909) 228-2162  to make reservations.  The venue will be determined by how many of you plan to attend.

The proceeds from this event will benefit Gospel Life's Worship Ministry (sound system) which needs several more items to upgrade.

Thank you for inviting family members, friends, and including those who are attending the various small groups and Bible study groups.

DEVOTIONAL
Our Congregations Should Reflect Heaven's Diversity

by Rick Warren

My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations. Mark 11:17

God loves variety. If you don't believe me, take a look at a National Geographic magazine. Look at the variety of people God has made around the world. God doesn't make clones. There will never - ever - be another you.

Since God loves variety, our churches should too. He wants people from all tribes, all nations, and all languages to know Him. Heaven will include people from every ethnic group in the world (Revelation 7:9). Our congregations should reflect the diversity of Heaven. Jesus says in Mark 11:17, "My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations."

God made it easy for Saddleback Church to reflect the diversity of Heaven. He put us in California. Ten million California residents are immigrants - including 25 percent of all the CEOs in the state!

Reaching our community means mirroring its diversity. We speak 67 different languages at Saddleback Church. We have 13 different Mandarin small groups alone! The diversity of our church amazes me each and every weekend.

Not every church is located in a community that reflects the kind of diversity found in Orange County, but every church can reflect the diversity of its community. For years it has been said that the most segregated hour in America is 11 a.m. on Sunday morning. God never intended it to be that way.

Does your church reflect the diversity of your community? The thing to know is, it starts with you. The Bible says, "Show respect for all people; love your brothers and sisters in God's family." (1 Peter 2:1) There's no place for bigotry among God's family. Racism is a sin. It's that simple.

UPDATE FROM ABROAD
Senior Pastors in Palawan Friday

Tulios and Ongs Our Senior Pastors John and Jessie Tulio will be at Gospel Life's churches in Palawan this weekend.  They will continue to build up and nurture the leadership there and help facilitate the construction of the second church in the area.

Paul and Dolly Sy will be joining them there.  They are scheduled to leave for the Philippines today.

Meanwhile, a group is hopefully being raised in the Metro Manila area that reflects the core beliefs of Gospel Life Community.  Contacts from the pastors' previous trips abroad are being pursued to form what could be the nucleus of like-minded believers in Metro Manila.

MEDITATION

"God, So often I look at what people are going through and feel sorry for them. And when I'm going through tough times, I am upset about it. But when I look at Joseph and all he went through, then see where that led, I understand that You have a plan for us in all that happens. If Joseph had not been put in that pit, then sold into slavery, then taken to the rulers, he would not have been in the place to save his family nor the children of Israel.

"Lord, please help me remember Joseph and his outcome when I'm in the midst of troubles I don't understand. I pray that my outcome will be a 'Joseph outcome,' accomplishing Your purpose. Do what is necessary to use my gifts and talents for Your eternal Kingdom. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen. "
