WEEK OF PRAYER REPORTS FROM THE MISSION FIELD

PALAWAN

The Palawan Gospel Life churches followed the Prayer Week schedule just like we did at the Gospel Life Community Church in Walnut, CA where each day was assigned  a specific "breakthrough."  Church members continued to talk about their experiences during the Week of Prayer, including the miracles of healing that they witnessed.

A remarkable story was related about one of the school boys who attends church at Irawan.  He came that Sunday limping with his leg and foot swollen due to having been sprained at a game of soccer.  As all the children in their Sunday school class indicated they had faith their friend will be healed, Pastor Norma prayed for the boy and the pain and swelling went away.  The boy then ran to the church building to give his offering, jumping for joy that he was healed.

Another one of those healed witnessed once more about her continuing health.  At the same time she brought her four-month old baby who had a fever due to an immunization she received the previous day.  The baby was lethargic from the fever and her mother brought the baby to be prayed over.

About four of those present prayed for the baby, and while this was going on the baby started to sweat profusely.  When the last prayer was said, the baby's fever had completely subsided and within a few minutes the baby became very active and "gurgling laughter came from her" whenever someone talked to her. Their faith stories are so encouraging!

Also, all the small group fellowships there "said that they believe that the finances for GLCC Walnut has been given by God already." Yes, they, too, have been praying for the proper resolution of our mortgage note.

GUIMBA, NUEVA ECIJA

Word was received from Guimba that the church spent the whole day of September 11 (Sunday) in fasting and prayer.  "The participation was great.  They were also energized and they are seeing Breakthrough in their finances and health.

DAVAO

The Prayer Week went very well among our brothers and sisters in Davao. Sister Lorena Lacia said that groups from Matanao, Pictan and Marilog observed the Week of Prayer.  Some pastors from other churches joined them.

She related her personal experience regarding staying dizzy because of her anemia (she had a hemoglobin count of 10, considered to be low, according to her doctor). However, during the Week of Prayer her symptoms went away and her subjective feelings went back to "normal."

A text message received from another member (Ceno) stated that "one of their Breakthroughs is their renewed and increased passion to share the gospel. He said that the brethren were energized so that even those who were not interested in helping before are now leading the others.  They started going from house to house to open up Basic 10 small groups.  The response is great!  They are busy!

REDDING

Jessie Guo writes from Redding, CA where she has enrolled at the Bethel school for the ministry. She has found a place to live in and her housemate is a "7th year intern." She says school is good, and that she is very encouraged and strengthened.

She asks for us to pray for the mother (Rosemary Crow) of one of her classmates who has a "bad" cancer.  She told them that  Gospel Life is a "cancer-free zone."

We bless Jessie as she studies up there and thank the Lord for the way that He has led her!

MEDITATION

"Dear God of Hope and Promise, I thank You that You will give me the patience I need to wait upon Your will and plans for me and to  give me the inner peace and understanding to know Your will, and the boldness to step out in faith, and to do Your will.

"I thank You for Your promises to give wisdom, to always be there for me, and to receive me into Your kingdom. Thank You for granting me eternal life through the blood and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Thank You my Lord, full of grace and truth. In Jesus' name, amen."
