Greetings!
Our vision for Gospel Life Community remains focused and positively forward. It is important that our affirmations hold the thought that our vision is not blurred by any peripheral consideration that detracts us from its pursuit. We must not allow the naysayers and the weak-hearted to influence our resolve to follow what God wants us to do.
God opens our minds to concepts that may be foreign to us, but understand that He also gives us the tool of creativity to bring us to an unlimited range of possibilities.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE
The theme of the sermons for the month of September is "Spiritual Warfare." We have developed useful insights into this topic from the series of sermons by Pastor Hansel. The first in the series dealt with "Weapons of our Warfare" and the second was entitled "Men are Supposed to be Heroes."
He will yet again deliver the third sermon of the series this coming Sunday. Let's determine not to miss this one.
In our individual battles, let's remember that God's victorious destiny for us has already been assured. He places in us our hearts' desires, and then supplies what we need to walk it out. |

A LARGE TURNOUT
Praise the Lord for a large turnout at our monthly fund raising dinner last night. About a hundred of our church family and their friends and relatives came out to the World Buffet in West Covina for the event.
The occasion also served as a send-off for our Lead Ministers Pastors John and Jessie Tulio and for Paul and Dollie Sy who are leaving soon for their missionary trip to the Philippines.
Proceeds from last night's fund raiser will augment the GOGL (Global Outreach of Gospel Life) fund. Monies raised in the two previous monthly fund raising dinners and in future ones are earmarked for the improvement of our sound system. |

WALNUT FAMILY FESTIVAL
Volunteers Needed
The Walnut Family Festival is only three Saturdays away (October 8). Make sure to join us for the parade which will assemble at about 9:30 a.m.. Those participating in the parade should wear the shirts they ordered with the Gospel Life logo.
Our booths both in the non-profit group area and in the game area will need to be manned from about 9:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. These booths will need to be set up on Friday afternoon, October 7, beginning at about 4:00 p.m. and will be dismantled Saturday afternoon, October 8, after 5:00 p.m. We need volunteers to do this, too.
We will offer a Blood Pressure and Diabetic Screening Clinic for the public as we have done in the last two years. Medical/health professionals are asked to volunteer for this mission work right at our "backyard."
The festival will feature a 5K/10K run, live continuous entertainment on two stages, a food court, childrens' area, and numerous booths representing businesses, crafters and non-profit organizations. The festival's theme for this year is "The Great Outdoors." For information on the 5K/10K run please call (909) 595-9980 and ask for Chris McBurney.
Sign up sheets will be placed at the church foyer. Please make sure you are signing up on the proper list. |

I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 (NIV)
God pours his power into your life, giving you his strength to do what he's called to do.
Faith is acting in confidence that God's power is active in and through your life. Faith is trusting God's power will be your strength to do everything through him.
He's not asking you to live life under your own power or through your own strength. That would limit what you can do; yet, God's power and strength are unlimited.
When you say, "There's something I'd really like to do for God, but I don't think that I can do it," God may reply, "Great! I'm glad you've figured it out. You can't do it by yourself, but with my power working through you, you can do anything I ask you to do."
If you stay at "I can't" and never move to "God can," then you're less likely to even try great things for God. It's like having a car with the most powerful engine ever built, but saying, "I don't think it can get me past the first intersection." So you leave it in your garage, never taking it onto the road.
God is calling you to the open road. His power is available to you: "For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey him and the power to do what pleases him" (Philippians 2:13 NLT).

| MEDITATION |

"Dear God, I need to feel your peace in my life today. You have promised peace, and I have experienced Your perfect peace beyond all understanding in times of life that are just plain hard.
"There is so much going on in this world, in my country, my community; so many prayer requests and needs in my church family; and special needs in my own family.
"Thank You for continuing to touch me, having mercy upon me, guiding and protecting me. Thank You also for letting me in Your presence and experiencing Your peace in the midst of it all. Thank You, loving and merciful God. In the Savior's name I pray, amen." |
