Greetings!
Churches today experience widespread spiritual famine. As a body of believers wholly given to God we commune with Him daily and are led by the Spirit in every detail of our lives.
In our present circumstances we go through trials and challenges so that we can enter a place of revelation, wisdom and fruitfulness. The Holy Spirit works in us and through us, leading us into truth and knowledge.
God works far in advance of any spiritual famine in His church. In every instance He moves ahead to prepare a way out for His people!

YOU MATTER
Do you know that whenever we have a gathering and you are not there, you are missed? Yes, YOU MATTER!
The day is near...our Fund Raising Dinner is just around the corner. Next Tuesday, in fact. We need a large turnout this time. It will also be a despedida or send-off for our lead Pastors John and Jessie Tulio and members Paul and Dollie Sy who are leaving soon for a missionary trip to the Philippines.
Please call Johnny Chua at (909) 228-2162 to make your reservations. Proceeds from this particular dinner will go to our GOGL (Global Outreach of Gospel Life) fund. The cost is $20 per person. Please make sure to give your money to Johnny by this coming Sunday at the latest.
Depending on the number who sign up for dinner, we will go to either the Capital restaurant or to the World Buffet. Bring other members of your family or your friends along. Make it another 'bridge event" to expose them to our Gospel Life Community. |

Seeing A Greater Purpose In Adversity
But Paul shouted, "Don't harm yourself! We are all here!" - Acts 16:28
Paul and Silas had just been thrown into prison. An earthquake erupted and the jail cell was opened. It's Paul and Silas' opportunity. "Deliverance! Praise God!" might be the appropriate response. But this is not what Paul and Silas did. In fact, rather than leave, they sat quietly in their cell area. The guard, in fear of his life, knew that it would be automatic death if prisoners escaped.
Paul and Silas did not leave because they saw a higher purpose for which they were in prison. They were not looking at their circumstance; they were much more concerned about the unsaved guard. The story goes on to explain how Paul and Silas went home with the guard and his family. Not only did the guard get saved, but his entire household as well.
What a lesson this is for us. How often we are so busy looking for deliverance from our circumstance that we miss God completely. God is looking to do miracles in our circumstances if we will only look for them.
Sometimes as workplace believers we become so obsessed with our goals we miss the process that God involves us in, which may be where the miracle lies. What if that bill collector who has been hounding you is unsaved and he is there for you to speak to? What if a problem account has arisen due to something God is doing beyond what you might see at this time? Our adverse situations can often be the door of spiritual opportunity for those who need it.
I saw this personally when God allowed me to go through a number of adversities. It took some time, but I saw some great miracles as a result of those adversities. When God said that "all things work together for good for those who are called according to His purposes" (see Rom. 8:28), He meant all things. It is up to us to find the "work together for good" part by being faithful to the process.
In the next adversity you face, tune your spiritual antennae and ask God for discernment to see the real purpose for the adversity.

| MEDITATION |
| |
"Dear gracious, merciful, loving Heavenly Father, thank You for this day. Thank You for Your never-ending love and Your tender mercies.
"Thank you for what you will do for those who, today, are in need of a special touch; those who are facing challenges, obstacles, consequences; those who need favor from a spouse, an employer, a friend, a judge, an insurance company, a hospital, a landlord, a financial institution, or any other person or organization with whom there may be a special situation.
"I am grateful because of Your work in these situations, in these lives, in these places to bring about good. You always grant favors, touch hearts, move mountains if necessary for Your will, Your glory, and in the best interest of those who need Your help.
"May You be honored. May lives be changed. May souls be rescued. May needs be met. I am quite certain that You do all these, and more, even for me, and I can only thank You. In the name of Jesus our Savior I pray, amen." |
