| Greetings! | |
We're still here, or we're already in heaven and don't even know it!
Of course, we're joking! The world didn't end on Saturday, May 21st, as someone had predicted. He was interviewed on TV the day before, and he insisted all that was based on what the Bible says.
Look at Matthew 24:36 (NIV 84) - "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father"(bold print supplied).
What's important is the assurance that salvation is ours and eternal life is a certainty when we accept and believe that Jesus died for all our sins, past, present and future, and that He rose from the dead and ascended to the Father and now sits at His right hand where all of us who believe sit with Him in the spiritual realm.
The timing of Jesus' return is not for us to determine.
Our concern must be to let the unsaved know the Good News of the Gospel so that they, too, can be saved.

IN HIS MAJESTY'S SERVICE
| Yesterday's service gave us another "booster shot" in our spiritual journey. In line with this month's theme of a "Loving Community" Pastor Joannie's topic, "In His Majesty's Service," was an exposition on the "Community of Service."
Her sermon brought out three major points: the value of servanthood in God's kingdom, that the foundation of God's kingdom is love which is demonstrated through service, and that we serve God when we serve one another.
The key text: Matthew 20: 25-28 (NLT) But Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many."

RUBI ANNE DIJAMCO
| Annie's graduation from the California School of Culinary Arts (Le Cordon Bleu Program) with a degree in Hospitality and Restaurant Management was held on Saturday, May 21st, at 11 a.m. at the Santa Anita Race Track in Arcadia.
Additionally, she has accepted an offer to manage an Italian restaurant in Reno, Nevada beginning next month. She is now preparing to move and will soon be heading that way.
At the close of yesterday's Sunday service, Pastor Joannie led the congregation in surrounding Annie to pray for her, to bless her, to impart words of knowledge from the Lord and to prophesy over her.
The church family sends her off with all the love and well wishes in her new vocation. As one of our Praise and Worship leaders, she will be missed.
GOD BLESS YOU, ANNIE!

The pictures depicted their meeting with the leaders in MetroManila, the trip up north to Guimba, Nueva Ecija to minister to Gospel Life's church there, and then the trip south to Palawan for the Pastors' Conference.
They are now back in Manila to meet again with the group there. Several ministers were ordained in Guimba and in Palawan.

Recalibrate Route!
"The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth" (Luke 3:5).
I love the Global Positioning Systems (GPS) in the new cars. A voice comes on and tells me how far I have to go and when to turn. However, sometimes I get off course and the voice says: "Recalculating route." The GPS is telling me I have gone off course and it is now recalculating the route based on my wrong turn. Sometimes we can make wrong turns in our spiritual lives. We think we are going the right direction only to discover it was never God's will to enter that relationship, make that business deal, hire that person - the examples are limitless.
There is an amazing thing about God. He can make our crooked places straight. He has an ability to make whatever blunder you make turn out right. It may mean there might be some consequences to those decisions, but He will always allow your actions to work together for good for those called according to His purposes if we repent and seek Him fully to make things right. These lessons can even contribute to greater wisdom in our lives if we learn from our mistakes.
God's omnipotence is always one step ahead of our incompetence. Do you think He knew you would make that misstep? Absolutely. Do you think your life was planned even with that misstep figured in? Absolutely.
Isn't it comforting to know you cannot plan God out of the equation no matter how bad you mess up? He will always turn crooked places into straight places for those who are humble and contrite.
Do you need a crooked place straightened out today? Ask Him to straighten the course so you can flow in His perfect will for your life.

MEDITATION
"Dear God, Open my eyes that I may see every divine appointment You prepare for me. May I study Your Word and spend time in prayer and fellowship with You and take time to be still and know You, so that I will be aware and be prepared for those special opportunities and appointments that come to me.
"I know that I always fail to be consistent. Let me grow in faith as I seek Your face and live each day...and let me grasp every opportunity to work for Your kingdom. Thank you, in Jesus' name. Amen. "
